Edge question

Hey NS

I am currently training for my level 1 PSIA (professional instructors of America) exam and I noticed that my skis really didn't have good grip on the harder snow and ice. I have 2 pairs of park skis that have both seen rails. I know park skis aren't necessarily ment for carving and rails ruin edges over time, but would an edge tune make a significant and noticble difference in my grip on harder snow and ice?

Yes - sharpening your edges will help cut into harder snow and ice.

Will sharpening a knife make it cut things easier?

Yes... You may need a base grind first in order to put a decent carving edge back on the ski

once you've hit rails, there will be parts of your ski that wont be sharp again unless u basegrind the shit outa them and take a couple milimeters off the side edge. but having your ski sharpened will make them sharp everywhere but underfoot and will make a biig diference
