Edge detuning

so i went out for my first on - snow skiing last week with my brand new TC skis (prolly not relevant). anyway, I was hitting rails fine but I started to notice and it was happening, i would slow down on the rail and sometimes almost stop. I didn't detune my edges.

So, the content: how far is far enough for detuning (I don't want to too much) and how to go about it?

thanks a million, I want to have grip but not too much where I slow down!

detune the section under your boot. dont go in front of the toe piece or behind the heel piece of the binding. you really only need to take the sharp out of it, and natural use will do the rest. for the sake of saving your edges, you dont want to take off too much metal. just make a small 45 degree bevel for that short section.

I take an angle grinder to all my new skis and pretty much go tip to tail, then hand file to take out the burrs, then just hit rails until they're all nice and smooth.

and by angle grinder, yes, I mean the power tool... fuck edges.
