East coast "West Coast Session"?

Ski the east/meatheads used to host some pretty big events at sunday river pre dumont cup. Nothing on the scale of WCS due to the lack of snow at the end of the season (and most EC resorts wouldn't do something like this mid-season) but some cool stuff came out of it.

^I'd add sugarloaf as well, they just had a Ski the east shoot 2 weeks ago and have a pretty good venue (at least when theres normal snowfall), comp hill is a pretty good spot for a park plus the boardercross is there so theres lots of snow to move around

Gore mountain should host it.

It would be worth watching just to see how sketchy they would make it, and if anyone would actually be willing to hit anything.

Idk, I can only imagine the next level features they would build.

Too bad theyve been dry for the past couple weeks, it would be a great shit show to watch though

I'd say carinthia, big boulder or maybe Sunday river. Usually Ski the East invites East coast slayers to a specific mountain for a big shoot but having multiple would be dope.

I mean Sunday River is the obvious choice, but I agree that sugarloaf could make a sick massive jump where the boarder cross trail is, if the cross cut was where the jump was actually built. Both have the snowmaking for it. Killington or loon maybe as well. I was actually joking earlier today that I was going to climb tucks and make a jump out of the remaining patches and have an east coast session.

Now how do we go about making this happen because I was actually serious about this. It would prob have something to do with Ski the East. Possible Newschoolers help as well?

we build the jump. they will come.

Maybe Im on crack but I thought the point of wcs was to get all the homies out in one place at the end of the reg season, after comps etc. to have fun, also get the vibes flowing before camp season. The timing would be different for the east due to the different season. bitchin idea tho, maybe the session can switch coasts every 10 years

the east coast would only be able to build that big of a feature like 4 of the 10 years tho...

Bring back heat harvest!

"Hopefully we'll see a couple 780's. It would be cool to see a 900 go off."

Seven springs would for sure be the best spot. Along with that, their park crew is actually outstanding. If you saw on the ns snap story when they were at Mammoth last week the first jump they were hitting was made and shaped by the seven springs park crew.

This wasn't their first time at superpark.

And that's debatable as far as location.

Yeah really don't get all these people suggesting 7 springs. They've done some cool shit but is it not mad warm in Pennsylvania?

It should be at the Loaf and take place the week leading up to reggaefest.

whats the biggest jump mt snow has ever built? their big airs always seem smaller than other mountains, not that I have the balls to hit anything over 5 feet anyway, but I feel like inferno has the speed for something 80+, no?

You could easily get 80+ on inferno.

No idea what the biggest they've built but they've definitely had 65/70's in there and could have gone bigger.

I guess it just depends where you want to drop from and how far down you can slide the jump.

I never made it to mega motherhucker there or anything like that so not sure what they built for that but feel like those were under 70.

They could build a big enough jump to party.

Whiteface just built a 70ish footer for their ski the east shoot a month or so ago. That place is pretty much vert so speed wouldn't be too big a factor.

Personally what I think the best locations are (Not necessarily in order):

1) Mount Snow. If they took the first jump off of inferno you could easily get 80+

2) Sunday River. Same as above plus the rail garden down below is my favorite on the east

3) Killington. I haven't been to Killington in forever so I don't know much about there but I'm sure its doable

Decided to draw out some features I think would be sick

Sorry for bad drawings/handwriting I was doing it with my graphics tablet and I haven't used it too much

The REAL question is why isn't their a east coast west coast Midwest coast sessions. Us michiganderskeep shit real

We be dope if Mount Snow did something like West Coast Session or Super Park. Would love to see a massive booter session one day and a huge rail/feature setup another day. The park crew at Carinthia is super involved and I know STE has done stuff with them and Sunday River before so it's definitely possible if enough people get behind the idea.

SAY I IF YOU ARE IN FAVOR OF THE IDEA

Yeah this is great, let's try to figure it out somehow.

If this became big enough, and it was hosted at Mount Snow or somewhere else, I'm sure that parks crews from 7 Springs, Sunday River, Killington and other mountains would come help the build

I think the northern mountains would be best for sure

More snow and more people

I guess we will do poll to see who is in favor of the idea

Yeah because whatever a few kids vote for on this site really matters in the long run versus the time and money it takes to pull off these events etc.

The location matters in terms of who is willing to work with you, what they're offering. Also getting some $ from sponsors etc.

It's not like you just poll a bunch of people in here and show up at whatever mountain and say "20 kids on some website said that this is where they wanted to have a big event so you guys are hosting it now".

IK that I was making the poll to see if it was worth it to go into further effort to make this thing a reality

Obviously we'll have to get companies and sponsors behind it

These look good, definitely more rails though. I think we should have a hip or spine in there somewhere as well. Building some really creative features with a bunch of snow would be sick. Stuff where there's a bunch of options just to see what people can come up with

Ya I agree with rails

I just threw the rails together real quick

The rails should definitely be more creative than this

So after the vote is in, will you email/call the winning mountain and tell them they're the lucky hosts of the east coast sessions, show them the course they're building, and give them a dollar toward the costs of the event?

Or a better idea. Just assume they see this thread. We can vote on a date as well. Then we all show up at the mountain for the event.

Dude chill on this

Obviously I didn't think this through enough and I kind of went blindly in to making this thread just expressing my opinion and then it just got carried away. Idk how it will happen but I'm very interested in making this work and I know others are too. I don't know much at all about event hosting/making this work business wise so I would not have too much to do with the planning

Just chill

Deciding it would be nice to have a ski event is the easy part. The rest of the logistics not so much.

I understand and I never said it would be easy at all or even that it would happen

You just went after me for pretty much no reason
