East Coast Quiver

Looking to make a few updates this summer and add some skis to the lineup. Any and all feedback appreciated.

Armada 92ti- looking to use these for fast hard pack days cruising around with friends that don’t ski in the park. All the reviews I’ve read or watched have been great, just looking for anything negative?

Armada ARV 106- Looking at these for pow days, spring slush, spring park ski. Not sure what else would be a solid option for this?

Thanks!

Look into on3p woodsman 92 or the Jeff 92 and for deeper days get the Jeff 108 or woodsman 108. You can’t go wrong with either. Also could grab a set of moment wildcat 108 as well.

only thing i’d say about the declivity 92ti is they are surprisingly stiff and chargey. Can be great if that’s what your expecting but a softer more jibby ski could be more entertaining if cruising with friends.

Regarding the ARV 106, with Armada's durability issues recently, I'd steer toward something more proven like a ON3P Jeffrey (expensive, but on sale currently). You could also check out the Vishnu Wide Plus, Icelantic Nomad, among others.

Anything with nice rocker, 100-ish waist, and a good reputation for durability will make a great spring slushy park / east coast pow ski.

I have two skis that kind of fit your second description. My Jeffrey 102's are my favorite park ski. And my DPS Koala 103's are my favorite east coast pow ski. The jeffs are insanely durable, feel phenomenal in the park, and handle soft conditions very well. The Koalas float and carve better, even in slush, but they're slightly less playful/fun in the park.

Looking at the Jeffery 108 now, thanks!

Honestly one of my favorite skis by far it can rip park and groomers I have my set of 108 in a 186 mounted at -2.5 from center and thinking of bumping it back to recommended

I got on the nordica unleashed 98 this season and I have nothing but good things to say. Skied them in a 12 inch storm up at jay and a pow day down at mad river and they did amazing. Seen a few people blow up theirs but from what I can gather they are skiing them hard in the park. As an all mountain ski though they are very good, way surpassed my expectations.

You can also look into fatypus skis. Super small indie brand out of VT but their skis are they best imo. Been riding their skis for 10+ years now and haven't had a pair blow up on me yet. For park I'd recommend the d-root or l toro depending on if you want a skinnier or fatter ski. For all mountain/pow I'd look into the m5 or bu. The l toro also skis pretty well outside the park too, I usually ride mine 95% of the season unless we get a decent storm.

Stockli Stormrider for hard pack. Vishnu Key for park/play

This combination has rendered the rest of my quiver excessive/useless

I had some G-Butters back in the day and absolutely loved them, rode them for two seasons and then passed them to a friend that still has them lying around somewhere.

Looked at Nordica as well, something about the 92ti I just really want to get on a charge the whole mountain…but maybe a pair of Fatypus for playing around on soft days. Thanks!

The g-butter was probably one of my favorite skis I've owned. Wish I could get my hands on another pair. Fatypus is having a good ass sale on their skis rn if that's the route you wanna take.

The unleashed is a pretty stout ski with a good amount of rocker. Can definitely still charge and does have metal like the 92ti just not as much. Could also look into the enforcers. Much more metal and good for charging but you do sacrifice the twin tip so idk lol. Good luck on your search

Nope, no delam. No pro deal either for me, I just got super lucky and was gifted a pair. They're insane, if you can swing it or get a pro deal, I highly recommend. At first I was like, this has to be all hype, but after a day of using them in east coast hard pack, chunder I was super impressed. They just bulldozed right thru it all.
