East coast powder skis...?

yes i searchbared and found only one old thread that didn't really have what i was looking for..first of all i ski at a small hil in western mass but i go up to vt and nh a lot and i also go out to summit county once a year, for a week. right now i ski on line anthems, which i love, but they just don't really get it done in the pow. i'm small for my age, i'm 5' 1" 95 pounds. first of all do i really need powder skis? i probably ski in 7+ pow days on the east coast a year, but i also go out west where i ski a ton of pow.these skis i'll be buying next year and i plan on growing a couple inches.
so here's what's on my list 2010 hellbents in 1692010 bentchetlers if they come in a 170-ish size2010 sf bacons in 172(yes they are coming in a shorter length next year)
thanks and i'm also open to any other ski suggestions...

id say with your size rocker isnt really necessary but you go with it and have fun with it.
with that being said the bacon would be a good ski but also look at an obseth (small man's hellbent)

the goal of an east coast pow ski is to have something that can ride trees and pow in the morning and then shred crud in the afternoon, so you want something with enough flex to handle the crud, short and turny enough to handle trees, and fat enough for pow.ideal balance i'd say would be 172 bacon or, if you want something more funky, then 175 jjbacons will be easier for you to handle, you're absolutely tiny, so you might want those but jj's will be more fun in trees and crudbacons are a more conventional ski whereas jj's push the limits

Next years 172 bacons would probably be a good choice for a powder ski, but you may also want to look at the elizabeths they are designed for park but at your size they would be great in powder to. I'm a bit bigger then you and my lizzies hold up well in the powder we here in the east coast and still rips the whole mountian on any otherday. So if you want something a little more versitle then the bacon, check out the lizzes just a sugestion.

thanks guys ++k to all of youth surface life lifes i thought only came in a 185...
so the sense i'm getting is to stay away from the bents and go for the bacons?

your to big for 169 bents, but to small for 179 so ya stay away from them. 172 bacons sound prime

something like the obsethed is a good all around pow ski. For your size you really dont need anything with a ton of rocker

the bent chetlers are coming in a 183 only i believe. atomic is making a ski very similar to the bent chetler called the Blog that are 110 under foot instead of 123 and they are rockered as well. they are coming in a 177 and a 185 but thats probably still too big for you.
id say go with the line's. they will be nice and soft and youll be able to grow into em a bit and they are much cheaper than anything else i believe

actually, if he's a good skier, 177 blogs could be great! the rocker will make them ski short, and if you mount them close/at center then that will make them even shorter

thanks guys!idk but 177 sounds huge on me although i'm a good skier i've never skied anything that long. right now i'm sort of leaning towards 172 bacons.

My three recommendations would be LINE Blend, Bacon, or the Rossignol s3's. Only ski I havent skied out of that list is the Blend

Bacon- Super fun ski for anything really, skied it for two seasons in NY. Soft and playful, but for your size, it's going to be a nice ski for everything, not a complete noodle. Makes real quick turns, but is versatile and if your a good skier you can really make it do anything...besides zip-lining bumps. Fun ski in the park too, just to mess up. I never hit a rail with them but they're clumsy and huge on boxes. Overall, sucha sick ski for everything, holds on ice fine, rips on groomers. Holds a really good edge.

S3- New for Rossi next year. One of my favorite skis I've ever been on, I sold my bacons and I'm probably going to be these for next year. They're the beefed down version of the S7. Basically it was made for an east coast skier who wants a rockered ski for the powder we get on the EC, but not extremely wide underfoot, so it's still versatile enough. This ski turns on the dime. I love it, fits my style of skiing perfect, which is quick turns, turning in piles of soft snow, etc. I really really recommend these. They're 98mm underfoot, which may seem "narrow" for todays industry standards for a fat ski, but they were made for the EC and the rocker definitley makes up for it. I can say they float incredible or anything, I only had the chance to ski some groomers with them, but they definitley seem like a sick sick ski for the EC skier whose making a couple trips out West. I heard they're supposed to retail for as low as 375, too.

Blend- Most freestyle out of the 3. 100 underfoot, wood core. I call it a baby bacon. Seen this ski a lot on the EC, can't say much about it cause I haven't ridden it but seems like a solid ski for everything, a one ski-quiver type ski.

wow man really apreciate the info..the rossi s3's seem intresting i might add that to my list. idk about the blends cuz i don't really want an all mountain pow ski, cause i already have anthems for the park and have a pair of skis i can use on groomers. thanks again

yeah i saw that i'm just not sure if i grow too much and they'll be too small for me next yeari think i might just get some bacons
really appreciate all the help guysi might bump this thread like next october when i'll be buying my stuff

def go with a fatter all mountain ski instead of jsut a straight pow ski youll regreat getting it i mean we dont get pow that often and when we do it gets tracked out relatively fast and groomers suck with pow skis

yep thanks guys. i really won't be using these skis for groomers, that's what my race skis are for. these skis will be strictly for pow and maybe some fooling around. idk i still sorta want some bents if i grow enough because they seem to fit what i'm gonna be using them for

iv got bacons, you can use em everywhere

but at your size you might as well get lizzys and have them be softer

i know, im just saying if there was a 182 lizzy id be all over its dick and not bacons, iv ridden both and lizzys are way better in park and the bacon is not a bigger version of the lizzy like most people think.

but bacons always have very nice graphics, and thats whats important

if you are considering the Bacons you may want to look into Elizabeths as well. At you size their softer flex would probably come in handy and be a lot more fun imo.
