Easiest way to affect change

People are very opinionated on what needs to change in America, but people forget the easiest way to make it happen is to be a conscious consumer. Vote with your wallet, educate yourself about what business practices the companies who make your products have and adjust accordingly(and within your means). Now you don’t have to wait for a bunch of old people to write something on a piece of paper to change stuff for you

Probably gonna get downbombed for this but what is there to downvote about this statement? Rich people find ways around laws and taxes no matter how many you make so you might as well try and influence change with ur cash moneyz

I’ve noticed as time goes on that I am price sensitive (to a degree) and I have started thinking about this. If you don’t like what a company is or stands for, try not to buy from them. It’s not always that cut and dry, but we can all try.

I generally try to buy American made products because I know a lot of people who rely on that product to remain employed. Sure it's usually a little more expensive but if I'm able to pay it I don't mind because it's for the greater good of friends and the country.

I won't lie though. Honda's kick ass!

I'm boycotting the oil companies the only way I know how by getting everything delivered

So, instead of driving somewhere, you're just letting someone else drive to you?

I always loved the green tree huggers who lecture me about being green while they wear sweatshop made clothes and drive away in their Nissan Pathfinder.

Ahh yes white female virtue signalers. The very best.

Don't worry about the Honda. Foreign brands have just as much if not more North American content in them than the Detroit automakers these days.

Just like people shutting down pipelines and forgetting it’s gonna get there by train truck or ship instead, which have much higher failure rates and contribute a lot to pollution

I mean, it *is* usually more fuel efficient, so you are taking money away from big oil...

Usps, ups, Amazon etc drive by everyday anyway so it costs zero fuel

Hondas got that made in ohio pride, you’re still buying American even if it doesn’t seem like it. Brings up a good point that its not always easy to tell what your supporting with your wallet, research goes a long way sometimes.

Buying domestic helps literally tons. The top 15 cargo ships in the world contribute more pollution than all the world's cars put together! They even pollute more than all of Germany, a very productive country.
https://www.bbc.com/news/amp/world-43714029

This is due to the fact that these ships use ultra low refined fuel that is heavy with sulfer and operating in international waters makes this legal. Sure they are way more efficient by ton of fuel per ton of cargo per mile but that is purely an economical viewpoint. The fact is they still dump out literally millions of tons of pollutants into the atmosphere, so when you buy something that was made in your country, you are helping out on that front as well as supporting local jobs :)

Bunker fuel is fuckin nasty
