Earth 3000 -- What do you think it will be like?

I'm thinking flying cars, passenger jets traveling incomprehensibly fast, and most everything being relatively quiet. Everyone will live in big cities with huge skyscrapers. Rural communities and suburbs will cease to exist. Humans will no longer be needed for work, being replaced my robots. We still will have not found any life in the Universe. Anything that exists today, will no longer exist in 3000.Share your thoughts.
 
pretty sure you just implied that computers will run everything.

sure they wont be the same computers, but its something that exists today
 
Humans will probably be extinct on Earth. We might have moved to another planet, but we won't be the same because evolution will probably change our makeup dramatically by then.

i highly doubt this. first of all, i dont think human bodies are radically different than they were 1000 years ago because evolution takes a really long time to carry out. also, evolution occurs when random defects turn out to be beneficial, allowing the person to live a more productive life and pass that defect onto the next generation. but today humans are preventing defects with medicine, and we adapt our environment to our bodies, rather than waiting for our bodies to adapt to the environment. the only evolutionary changes that i think will happen is that people will become more sexually attractive.
 
Any life? Any life at all? Bacteria even? If this doesn't happen in the next, say, 200 years i'll be shocked from the grave. Science is getting crazier every day. That being said, the intelligences that I believe are out there are just waiting until we grow up a little bit to make themselves known. Thats my personaly theory. They're looking down on us and seeing mirror images of their history from however many thousnads of years ago. We just arent ready. They don't need Nigerians with RPGs shooting at them because of their voodoo beliefs. That being said, we're advancing exponentially the difference ebtween 2012 and 3000 will be huuge compared to 1012 and 2000.
 
maybe intelligent life is an error, and one way or another it always kills itself off before it becomes advanced enough to find other sentient life forms. maybe the only thing another life form will ever find from earth is the ancient radio waves and Voyager satellites, still sailing across the emptiness billions of years after weve eradicated ourselves with nuclear war.

I think you're partially right, and I could be way off here, but I think that our ability to cure disease is actually the cause of rapid change. Virus' are changing so quickly and creating so many new strands that we can't always know about.

As well as the fact that scientists are starting to figure out more and more about how our bodies are made, i think it's only a matter of time before someone somewhere figures out how to mutate humans and create some freaky ass people that will then fill out world.

Then again that was all a wild guess so don't call me out on it because I cannot argue any farther on it.
 
this has only been around for maybe 2 generations max, and has not proven itself to be in any way sustainable.

not only that but that sort of medical care is only available to a small portion of the human population.
 
evolution is basically ground to a halt in humans. think about it, it used to be about survival of the fittest, but in todays environment anyone is able to reproduce and pass on their genes, so the weaker genes aren't eliminated
