Early Season PC vs. Canyons

PC (pick & shovel) -
pros: well-maintained, lots of jibs, a couple descent smaller jumpscons: slow chair, not a lot of jumps, 3 kings gets crowded
Canyons (painted horse) -
pros: fun jump line, some unique box set-ups, high speed quad access, no lift line, steep run up to the parkcons: have to take 3 chairs to get up there + walking through the village, flats after the park.

Overall, I prefer the Canyons. one lap takes less than 10 minutes. Thoughts?

Wait, Pick doesn't have a lot of jumps? I don't get it, 5 jumps in a row is a good amount and anymore I would probably be out of breath to even do...

Yeah im with mitch here, 5 jumps and they're "smaller"? the jumps at the canyons were like 10 ft???

You seem pretty bias. Canyons will never touch the quality and size of PCs park.

Also, slow chair and 3 kings being crowded? You probably went during christmas break, anywhere is gonna be busy. 3 kings on a normal weekday laps are fast as fuck and never a line. Once again, your opinion is bias, those are my thoughts.

I Ilike both. PC is always coverd with people on weekends but weekdays are money. And for the Canyons, there box set up so far has been so sick. So.......both cool.

yeah... not sure how many jumps it takes to be considered a lot.

I think 5 good jumps in a row is amazing.. anything more is unnecessary. 5 good jumps over 10 stupid small jumps.

Three kings any day that isn't a weekend or christmas break is fine.

Park City is illin.

As much as I love The Canyons PC is better. Not to mention The Canyons jumps are never as good as PC's plus the last jump has the flattest landing. I mean its almost unsafe to hit it.

Harsh. I apologize for posting without more knowledge of the current PC jump set up. I had a solid day at the Canyons today, and was comparing to Park city a couple weeks ago. I love both resorts, and I've skied a lot more at Park City over the last few years, but I just wanted to see what others thought about the early season set-ups. Again, sorry for posting without better knowledge of the jump line at park city.

I agree the jumps are small at the canyons, but compared to my experience earlier this season, and in past seasons, I enjoy the set up there over pick and shovel. Maybe I just need to get back over to to PC this week before I make comparisons.

I am a huge fan of the canyons. I have a pass at both PC and Canyons.

BUT

There is no comparison... pick is killing it end of story. And as mentioned earlier once xmas is over you can hotlap the fuck out of pick. Canyons is for kick ass side country and endless powderstashes with out having to go to the cottonwoods

I seen both parks terrain parks. I am not here to hit the parks, but from what I have observed The Canyons jumps steal your airtime.
And I saw PC's "feature yard" or something, their unused features at this time, and its fucking insane.
I was riding up after 4:30 PM with 2-3 minute lift line on 12/29. And they still had a park open for night time skiing.
The Canyons does have a good selection of features, but PC's whole yard of features just makes your jaw drop and wonder when / where will they be put up.
I am just a tourist though, so don't mind my gaping ass.

pc- jumps

canyons- jibs

i enjoy riding both but since im still on the rebound from an acl tear, i choose the canyons at the moment.
