I have yet to see where either of those companies are using skiing in a light that will negatively affect the future the existence of free skiing, name an instAnce where either one of em had pushed a view that is against the way of which we thing, under Armour had supported war of rails and supported a guy like me (who supports a different than average view of skiings future) and full tilt who has been built through freeskiing and for it. Althought I do understand what you are saying to an extent, it just doesn't compare to what's on the horizon. And as big as UA Is they really do care about freeskiing and they have portrayed that with bringing me out to Baltimore multiples years to talk about my ideas And feelings toward it all, not only that, they have supported war of rails with to an extent that would surprise many, because it is a cool competition and deserves that kind of respect throughtout freeskiimg.
Like I said I can see where you get the Idea that either one of those companies can be seen in a certain light they truly are in it for the soul of freeakiing. On the other hand I know what these other companies have in mind from second hand hearings from very respectable people in the mind of freeskiers. At the very least of this at least you can say that UA and Full Tilt have been in this before Olympics was in mind.
I live this way as a lifestyle choice, when I was in high school I told my teachers I would be a janitor at a ski resort to be able to ski everyday in a state that had no idea what our side of skiing really was. And I would still do the same. I love this shit and I hate to see it take th direction that its takin into. I hope you can see It from my point of view.
Lets be proud of ourselves to have our own sect of skiing, that is seperate from racing and bumping, where we have not had to follow the same criteria to call ourselves a successful sport, we need to stay true to our own trend, it's not impossible it has been done by skateboarding and they have been able to make a very large profit off of it. Do you realiz what kid of message we would send to the world if we kept running free skiing amongst ourselves and don't allow those outside influences to divulge themselves in the aspects of our sport. Fuck, we would be so strong: please think about this, what if as skiers we took a strong stand against all this and let snowboarders conform to it now ( which most of them dont want to do anyway) That really means something to what freeskiings all about. Olympics is what dying sports come to to get rebirthed. We don't need that, on the opposite side Olympics needs a rebirth, especially in the younger aide of viewers. They need us, it's jot the other way around. We are doing great things as freeskiers and we are growing everywhere, we have not capped off.
I don't care if Olympics will bring in a bunch of random people into our sport, we are doing amazing and it is shown in th very close community that we maintain as of now. We will keep growing without Olympics, we don't need them. What the fuck does a gold medal mean????? It's treacherous to the means of freeskiing in my opinion and to many others I talk to on a daily basis. Please just stand up and take a stance against this shit. We need to be strong to keep freeskiing alive and well
