Dynaduke vs Quiver Killer?

So I recently found out what Dynadukes are... kind've confused about the pros and cons of having 2 quiver killer inserts in a ski vs a dynaduke plate besides the fact that quiver killers would require 2 binding mounts in the ski.

Do they essentially accomplish the same thing? or is there something about one of them that I am not understanding?

Plates add just over half a kilo of weight to your set up as a whole and put you 7mm higher off the skier. They're also more expensive that inserts if you mounting yourself, if you're getting a shop to do it, then your financial outlay is more less the same whichever way you go.

Finances aside is it realistic to have a inserts for a radical st mounting pattern and another alpine binding as long as the holes don't overlap? I'm aware that skis can only be mounted X amount of times before they lose strength.

Yeh for sure, it's fairly common to have inserts for two different patterns in your skis at once. There was one guy on TGR who drilled inserts for 3 of 4 patterns as a test if I'm not mistaken. Quiver Killers actually used to claim on their website that their product increased binding retention by x%, however they've since removed it from their site. Whilst there's no empirical evidence to suggest inserts increase retention by any given percentage, I think it's fair to say that it is generally accepted they do increase retention by some degree.

I agree with VD about the plates; they're heavy and unnecessary.

I swiss-cheesed my Caylors 3 seasons ago with Radicals and FKS holes and Binding Freedom inserts. The Rads were mounted +1 from ON3P recommended and the FKS were right on the line. I have skied them with the FKS on about 90% of the time, but they've come in handy when I wanted a little more float for touring and I own a pair of skins for them. Swapping the bindings takes me about 15 minutes plus whatever time it takes for the locktite to dry onto the bolts (don't insert them with wet locktite). I haven't done it often but it's a nice option.

Yeah it's been around for a couple years. I have no experience with them personally. Originally, they didn't seem suited for me because I have boots with tech soles that don't interface with the Pivot bindings. They now offer the system for Marker Lord and Tyrolia Attack bindings, which have height-adjustable AFDs for touring boots (although the Attack doesn't explicitly say it's compatible). I'm stoked once again about the system and am considering it for next year's new setup.
