Dying Goggles?

I've seen a few clips in ski movies (Not another ski movie, WSKI 106, Redtape, Yearbook) of non stock looking goggles. I know these might just be next year’s models, but could you do a custom dye job on a goggle frame. I play lacrosse and I’ve dyed a few of my plastic lacrosse heads in different colors, but do you think it'd be possible with a goggle frame?

my guesss is the same way with the lacrosse heads... RIT dye (or something of that sorts)

id like to do that too... i have white electrics and id like another color better but w/o spending madd cash

Its called ritz dye i use it for my lax heads. google it or even ask a lax store because i know they do the womens googles.

^r u serious?even i know what lacross is.ya man dye it then put a clear coak on it to protect it. practice on a shit $5 pair first.

 
Haha I string and dye lax heads for little kids and make a fucking killing off them. How you think I even got the money to buy my goggles...

speaking of next years googles i was watching a snowboarding pipe comp, and one of the riders had black and white checkered anons. they were sick, probably next years.

i would google lacrosse head dying or even better go to a lacrosse store and ask them becsause they dye stuff all the time and should help you out.

its simple enough. you take boiling hot water(or at least steaming but the hotter the better) and mix in a packet of RIT dye of the color of your choice. stir it up real good and dip whatever you happen to be dyeing into the dye. the longer you let it sit the darker it gets. Thats what i used to do for my lacrosse heads when i played. To get really deep colors you leave it in for like 20 min and pastel colors around 5, you can get a good idea from that and it doesnt hurt to just chill by it and check on it every once in a while.

This worked marvelous for lacrosse heads but lacrosse heads are made of super stiff and resiliant plastics. Goggles are a bit more on the softer side and i don't know if you'd wan't to make the water too hot as you might warp your goggles. Another issue is the face foam. since you can't remove the face foam from the frame it too would have to go into the dye and it of course would be dyed. You might end up with a ring of color on your face after a day of riding, and rit dye does not come off easy.

that's merely my speculation of what you could prob do, what would happen etc. im not responsible for any ruined goggles that may come about from my two cents.

Not worth all the hassle

use a small paint brush, with fairly thick paintm, then it is nimble, it iwll hopefully stay on, and you can have your new color

dont ever bleach plastics it makes them super weak. they become really brittle. but dont clear cloat them the dye from rit absorbs right into the plastic so its only gonna come off if gashed. o and u cant dye light colors over dark. i dye lacrosse sticks all the time.
