DV Tape to Computer

Yooo quick question. Recently came into a Dvx100, but know that there's some process to go through in order to get videos from DV tapes to computer. I've heard a lot of different things between firewires, 4pin, 9pin, capture cam, etc. but don't know where to start. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry if repost!

yeah so you're going to need to import the DV tapes' video to your computer using either the DVX or another camera or tape deck, and it needs to either have a USB output or you need to find a cable converter to get it to USB. so i think it'll depend on what your budget is, plus i haven't imported DV tapes in forever (thank god) so idk what the good options are these days

i think the ideal situation is you get a dv tape deck that has USB output but i can't tell you what the prices for that will look like these days

you're going to want a firewire 4-pin input going into the dvx100. from there it varies on the computer hardware setup you're using to import.

my main cam is a dvx so msg me if you have questions.
