Durable skis?

I just got joystick these at the beginning of the season and they're almost done now. I'm looking for a durable ski that is still soft and light. Also looking towards armada and line
 
Well as a general rule you are gonna get what you pay for, so if you are looking for a durable ski you may have to be willing to fork out more than you would like.

The only ski that i can vouch for that is bombproof is the ON3P Filthy rich, its lasted me for 2 seasons now and still going strong.
 
In general, more durable skis are heavier and often stiffer, as well as more expensive. The only truly more durable brands are ON3P, Praxis, and J skis, all of which use thick bases and edges, but maintenance is a large part of durability. Read up on how to prevent edge cracks and core shots ect. no matter what you ski you get. At the end of the day though, a majority of NSers will tell you that if you are looking for durability, go with ON3P
 
I really don't think you have a concept of ski durability if you are saying that every ski brand has the same durability other than the most blindly advocated brands supported on NS?
 
Agreed. I busted up two paints of on3p jmos. But then again I'm a bigger guy and generally extremely rough on my equipment. But you get what you pay for most of the time. Just do some research, read reviews, etc

i can gurantee you that praxis builds an insanely durable ski, i know this because i ski hard (not in the park) and destroy skis.

praxis has the best rock resistance out of everything ive skied, which includes most big brands,

i wish i had pictures to show you what my bc's look like after about 50 days vs. what a nordica helldorado i skied looked like after an hour.
 
we already went over this in a different thread. companies use different materials from different brands with different quailty standards. This all means there will be differences with EVERY brand as far as durability goes. I will leave it at that
 
k so in the durability front as researched by me. the experiment being running over rocks, a lot.

praxis > blizzard, nordica, salomon and volkl
 
Pure Durability: K2. Those things can withstand bombs.

Durability and Lightweight? ON3P Filthy Rich. Sweet ski all around.
 
Keep in mind part of it is how you ski, if you can be a little lighter on your feet you'll be able to keep your edges a lot longer.
 
Completely not what I am saying. Each brand has totally different levels of durability, those are just brands who are recognized by the users as being the most durable skis they have used. A reputation is not earned in the ski community on false grounds. There may me a multitude of brands that are highly durable but do not get as much recognition for it; these are simply the brands that have the largest proportion of positive feedback from actual skiers who ride them and therefore are confirmed testimonials.
