Dumont's Chances of Success this year

With the new found rail game that Simon has seemed to have improved over the summer in New Zealand, do you think he has any chance at doing better in slopestyle comps this year?? or will his lack of double flips (besides double superman fronts) keep him from really progressing into that next level??

lets hear what you think.

not everything has to be about double flips does it?but i think he might do better, depending on what comps he competes in and who the competitors are.

he needs to do something new. not saying double flips, but hes been doing the same tricks for a while now. that bio/rodeo 7. cork ten tweaked mute

cork 3

etc.

he needs to do something to show hes pushing himself, and the sport.

I think this year is going to be huge for Dumont. I think he's starting to accept the baggy clothes/afterbang/thuggin/whatever steeze, that'll probably get him even more fans, and his last couple edits were straight fire, Slumdog Illionaire was so good (and so hood). Air Raid is IMO the best looking suit out this year, and general consensus seems to be Empire is going to be better quality this season, and he has Gogs now. He also did sort of shitty in comps last year, and I think he'll thrive on that, because he seems like one of those super competative jock types.

it's hard to say. but from what i've seen down at the NZ comps so far this season, you need a double cork as well as the both way game to win..

unless he's got a secret double, i think guys like bobby, tom, henrik, etc will be ruling the slope comps, but don't count him out for pipe...!

Pretty much this. Double fronts and cork 10s won't get him very far unless theres text voting involved...

I dont think thats true at all, not all courses are going to be like the one in cadrona. If you dont have the right jump, doubles arent going down. Also if I remember right simon was working on a double misty 14 which would be pretty fucking sick~

Ya I think he can do all 3. If he stomps those and throws in some filler tricks like cork 7s w/e on the smaller jump he would podium a lot of slopestyle comps~

He was the AFP overall champion - you don't get that with a shitty contest season. He got 3rd at the 1st dew tour, 1st at the 2nd stop, and 2nd at the 3rd stop in pipe, 2nd at London Freeze, 3rd at X, and 3rd at Freestyle.ch, doesn't seem like a shitty season to me...granted, he's had better, but it wasn't shitty by any means. I think he'll have a good contest season, he tends to always do well in comps, I would expect him to have a bad one, will it be better than last year, I don't know.

It's time for a team of analyst ala ESPN to star discussing skiing like they talk about the NFL.
