Dumont still using 07/08 skis

I was watching his slum dog edit and I noticed that his skis had the basis of the 06/07-07/08 model but the topsheet of the 08/09 dumonts. What is up with that. Dumont is one of the few pro who continues to use those bases&construction. Why not make his new skis more like those?
 
it is true that he is still using he previous model with the new graffic, but that's because its a much better ski than the "Dumont" that you can buy. and you can buy his ski, its the same thing as the 10th anniversary edition.
 
in my eyes, the whole point of a pro model is for advertising and marketing. so he needs to market the most recent skis, yet likes his older ones more. i know that doesnt answer your quesrion, basically because there is no answer. only one i can think of is once they work out all the bugs in this years, they will kick the 07-08's ass.
 
high quality bases get better and better as they are used. professional racers get the bases ripped out of their best skis and put into the new ski with new graphics and shit. my guess is that salomon did that for simon's skis as well.
 
Nope, in that edit he was using the current dumont with sidewall construction rather than cap. You can clearly see it at the end of the edit was the ski is messed up.
