Dumb Question.... but ski insert packs????

I’m lying in bed and can’t sleep and I’m wondering Wy don’t skis use insert packs like snowboards so we can remove bindings or change their position? This seems like such a cool idea so we could go from true centre one day to -4 the next and etc.

Im going to hazard a guess and probably answer my own question and say it’s because skis are to thin or something idk :/

Look for threads about the Line Reactor and you’ll find the pages of threads discussing this topic.

correct me if I’m wrong but the tl:dr is the new system didn’t perform as well as they needed it to out the gate which only added to the thought of “if it’s not broken why fix it” in regards to preset holes vs drilling your own. When trying to pioneer a new technology in a specific market if you can’t convince enough people to get on board it just won’t have the resources to make it work right and become the new norm.

Marker did it with the schizo like he said above line did it too. You could technically use quiver killers and have 3 different mounting positions. Doesn’t work well with skis though.

there are no dumb question threads

just ones that should go in gear gabber

and people who cant figure out google that shit

Sounds like you don’t know the answer ?

do you think it could be demo binders allow you to move your mount position

ski bindings all have different mount patterns both in brands and models

or both line with the reactor and some k2 tele skis tried and it failed

or binding freedom inserts will do what he asked

Age old question. None of the binding companies will agree on a standard mounting pattern. You would need so many sets of inserts to be able to accommodate every boot size. Best solution is a pair of marker demos if you want to change your mount position.

Was honestly just a can’t sleep question I didn’t give it much thought. Will always wish I mounted +2 from recommended though :’(

You can always remount the skis. The mount isn’t a one and done thing. A ski can safely take up to ~3 mounts and as long as there isn’t too little space between mounts, and the previous holes are filled properly, there will be little to no detriment to the ski.

Just ones that should go in gear grabber (mimicking you in a high pitched voice). Fuck off pussy.
