Dulling Edges

I just bought new skis and am debating whether or not I should dull my edges. With sharp edges will I catch on metal rails or will they just eventually dull down with no problem? My last pair I dulled by myself and never caught an edge and I'm wondering if I even need to for these.

dull them. round underfoot if they are a park ski. I take a file at a 45 degree angle, and then a diamond stone to round off more, and then a gummi stone to smooth em out.

sharp edges will be more likely to catch, and/or crack.

I just bought myself a medium grid sanding sponge and was hoping it'd work to dull my edges. Anyone know if this is a good idea or not? If it is, should I hold it straight up and down in relationship to the edge?

that is not going to work, get a file or a diamond stone, then smooth with a gummy stone, like stated earlier in the thread

like the guy a few posts above said, use a file and put a 45° angle under the binding area of the edge. thats what i did to my domains + in the early rise area, and after 1 season of rails and indoor shredding i have yet to catch an edge or get an edge crack.

So, instead of starting a new thread, I thought I'd just hijack this one.

I'm in a bit of a pickle, I ski maybe 30% park or so, and I like to rip the groomers. Right now my edges are great on the rails but im sliding out a bit when its icy or skied out. Obviously the fresh stuff is fine. Do people just get their edges medium sharp or something to deal with this problem? Or do you just have to pick one or the other? I have Salomon 2012 skis in 179 and I'm 6'2 (don't know if this matters)

Thanks
