Dull Edges

Is it a sign that my edges are real dull when I can slide sideways from one rail to another without losing speed?

haha, my teaching skis are a joke (i'm an instructor). they're also the skis i ride more often. the edges are (no joke) round. there's a small lump in the edge where there used to be the sharp part. best part is i don't even slide rails. i get tail washouts whenever i try to carve because there's nothing really grabbing the snow at all. fun!

If you wear your skis on the opposite feet when you're jibbing than you wear them when you're skiing the mountain, it helps a bit.

I slide both ways too, but that's just what the ski shop guy told me when I brought my skis in to be tuned.

or just totally randomize it when you put them on, and then they dull at about the same rate.

BTW, my teaching skis are 5 yr old Salomon Verse 7 161cm's. absolute noodles, the core is a pickle, but i still love them.

and on another note, i just smelled red bull wafting through my house.

dull edges is something that can't really be avoided even if you don't hit rails they eventually need to be sharpened ... but there is a good side to having dull edges.. you can jib all the groomer lips on the sides of the trails that's fun and good practice for rails

No matter if you switch them around, there still going to wear down on the same side. You have to slide both ways to even it out.

Think about it, if you slide right foot forward, your left edges are ALWAYS going to be the ones to get rounded out, unless you can pop into your skis backwards.

ECfreeski3, do you think you could slide it? It's seriously one of the hardest rails in the park and it's pretty much flat.

Anyways, doing stuff unnatural and natural is just... what I do to change it up, not to mention I prefer unnatural slides for switch-ons, I usually use right-foot-forward (natural) for trying new rails though.
