Dude, Ritalin SUCKS.

I'm on 20 mg right now to try and help me focus on my work...my heart is thumping, my left arm feels like it's going away, I just feel exasperated, and lastly, I'm still on NS refreshing the "My Threads" page a billion times a minute. Fuck this shit! Does this happen to anyone else?
 
1) how much did you eat before you took it?2) drugs can help with many things. motivation and laziness do not apply.
 
You do understand that ADD medication drugs such as ritalin are intended to help with motivation and laziness right?
 
if youre not prescribed, then yeah youre not gonna get focused. i know a bunch of people who it fucks with their head and makes it impossible for them to focus.
 
It sounds like you either need a different drug, or you don't actually have ADD...Ritalin and other ADD medications are stimulants, and if you don't have ADD you will get very restless on them. But if you are certain you have ADD, i would go to your doctor and ask for a different medication. Medications affect everyone differently, so maybe Ritalin just isn't right for you.
 
For the record, I'm not just using it because I'm lazy, my doctor gave me a trial sample type thing to see if it helps with my focus. My parents, my doctor and I are all pretty sure I have ADD, but I haven't been officially diagnosed yet because the tests cost like $800.

And I think it makes me focus on whatever I'm doing...like I just knocked out a US writing assignment without letting my focus stray once, but before that I could not get off NS because that's what I was doing at the time.
 
concerta and ritalins are both methylphenidate except concerta is extended release so it lasts longer, adderal is where its at.

the trick is to have only your work in front of you when it kicks in, that way you dont get distracted, and just plow thru your work.
 
it can be either... XR or just normal adderal.... i personally liked concerta the most with vivance second adderal third and ritalin last, just didnt like ritalin, maybe ur scription is to strong...when it intially kicks in i always get a lil jumpy to but after a few mins im fine
