DSLR Lens Help

I am using a T2i. I want to explore the video aspect and start using it to make edits. What is the best lens?I wanna go with a wide angle but avoid fish eye/distortion. Also has anyone used the Opteka X-Grip, how's does that preform while used skiing? Thanks +k for anything helpful.

Tokina 11-16 f2.8 is one of the best reticular wide angles out there.

That X grip is overpriced. Make your own or buy a glidecam and practice with it if you actually want smooth follow cams.

Thanks man I'm gonna look into it...I was also looking at the Rokinon FE8m-c 8mm f3.5. do you know anything about that?

Tokina 11-16 as said above or the canon 17-40 f/4L are both great lenses for follow cams. I'd also suggest having a telephoto lens for tripod shots from a distance.

17-40 is a waste on a crop. And the Canon 10-22 outperforms the Tokina and they're almost the same price I think; not to mention the longer focal length.

Also the sigma 10-20 is worth looking into, nice wide angle.

Personally I'd get a Samyang 14mm for 380$. MF only, but that doesn't matter as you're shooting video. Also the IQ is 10x better than any lens mentioned in this thread.
