Quick one,

do you guys use a different set of skis for dry slops etc to skis for real snow?

Does dry slopes have more detrimental affects to skis.... bought a new pair of skis and obvs want to keep them looking prrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrretty but want to use em on dry slope...

thoughts?

Am i being a big girl / wet flannel / nancy boy / soft lad / gay /

Nice one

If you have an old pair of skis that you aren't really that bothered about, then use those on dry slope. You will seriously regret using a brand new pair of skis on the abrasive surface that dry slope is.

When I use dry slope (not a lot nowadays) I always use my old Blends, only because they are beat to shit and wouldn't want my Filthy Richs getting beat up...

Depends on the type of dry slope you're skiing on but yeh, you will definitely get dry slope burn on your bases after not too long. I use a super beaten up pair of Ar6's for dry slope because we do shit every week, search ebay for some cheap skis would be my advice.

be careful if you go too fast the skis could set on fire due to friction

ever wondered why racers bring 2+ pairs of skis to dryslope events?

Much appreciated.I have an old per of JOs that i can use, although I promised my GF i would donate them to her...

meh...

It depends upon the surface dendix, snowflex or permasnow. Personally I just like hiking rails over and over because it helps to prevent edge burn from skiing top to bottom. But if it is raining or the surface is wet then this will help a lot to prevent ski damage from the heat generated from the friction of the surface on the skis.

It is really worth waxing your skis with a hard wax and leaving the wax on the base. This will help to protect the skis from damage.

At the side of the hill there are usually mats with slippery stuff on them, run your skis over them to help the skis glide.

A lot of what I have learn't is from this article: http://www.southernfreestyle.co.uk/tips/kit-plastic-slopes/
