Dry slope opinions

Sup NS,

I'm from the UK so we take all the snow we can out here... I was asked to compete in a univeristy freestyle comp up in edinburgh. Its on a dryslope, do you reckon it will be that different to snow because I'm pretty inexperienced with dry slopes. Is it hard to land? There's a big air comp too which could get messy

ok, so i ski dryslope most weeks, yes it is very different to snow, but you after maybe 3 or 4 runs you can adjust to it, switch in general is abit of a bitch, if you're skiing snowflex holding an edge is way harder than on snow, i think the one in Edinburgh isn't snowflex, so it will be easier to hold an edge but very slow compared to what you're used to on snow...but i would say you should go for it, you'll get used to it pretty quick and as long as you don't have any skiing showing you wont hurt yourself any more than you would on snow!

The jump at the dryslope in edinburgh is snowflex. Its quite different from snow but as said couple of runs you get used to it. It is pretty sketch holding an edge switch but were all in the same boat. I will be there competing aswell. Im lucky in that i go to uni in edinburgh and ski it alot but you should be ok. If not the comp isnt super serious so its a tonne of fun

Thats what i was talking about an the dryslope in edinburgh dont really do much in the way of freestyle comps so im kinda assuming thats what OP is talking about.
