Drunk Driving

I just found out about an hour ago that two people who graduated last year from my school were killed in a car accident and a third is in a coma. There car supposedly went into a ditch and exploded. The driver of the car was drinking and he is the one in the coma. I didn't know the two who were killed but I sailed with the third. I would just like to remind everyone not to drink and drive. I know you have heard it before, but I don't want you all to experience what everyone here is going through right now.

Thank you.

It's always shitty to here about people getting killed by drunk drivers. RIP

What I really don't get is that many of the drunk drivers kill but they usually escape with their lives.

yeah that blows man RIP.

a kid on my street died when they were drunk and fooling around. opening up the van doors and stuff while driving. van flipped, kids got thrown out and crushed. sad way to go.

yeah, please don't drink and drive.

I work at night, and drive a truck for a job, two weeks ago, one of my co-workers was hit by a drunk driver. totalled a brand new truck, and left him with a fractured back and shattered foot. it could have been me. it could have been you.

just don't do it. it is not worth the consequences, especially when someone dies, then you have to live with that responsibility.

such a shame; rip. This is why I believe that first time drunk drivers belong in jail. It would cut down on drunk driving for sure.

that and if you lower the drinking age. fuck i can go to iraq and be shot but i cant drink? what the fuck

yup, doesn't make much sense. But shit, if it was up to me, First time DUI and DWI = jail. Repeat offenders should be shot and survivors should be shot again.

i'm not sure, i but it think it might be because they're more relaxed? if your muscles are relaxed, i think sometimes it minimizes injury.

anyways, that's terrible to hear. RIP.

Sorry to hear that man, sucks for the kid who was doing the driving cus now he has to live with the guilt of all that shit.

Lesson learned the hard way I guess.

Best wishes to you and the families. been through that more then once with people I know, it sucks, no other way to put it.

yeh I drink and drive way to much. I made it my new years resolution not to do it anymore but I still do it because im a dumbshit when im drunk. its not worth it at all too many people have been fucked because of it

Today the driver off the car died. It was decided by his family and they took him off life support. He was a tough guy last through a coma for over four days. Please don't fill anymore of this thread with hate. Times like these you need to spred the love.

Thanks.

i hope you didnt think that was hateful, i meant coming out of a coma to find out what happended would be some tought stuff to deal with

some idiot girl at my school got into her car and tried to drive home after getting drunk to the point of sickness. when she was leaving she hit another girl who was in the party's car and drove away to her house. one of the neighbors saw and called the cops with her plates and stuff and they showed up at her house. she told them she wouldnt do anything until her dad got there (big shot attorney) so no breathilizer or anything. her dad talked her out of DUI. its horrible, personally i think she should have gotten the DUI. sure noone got hurt, but she needed to learn her lesson before someone does.

I'm sorry, but I refuse to spread the love in regards to some douchebag fuckface that can't control his own actions and does something so inconsiderate and with such utter disregard for other peoples lives and safety as driving drunk.

Fuck him. One less asshat on the earth.

It's a shame he took others with him though.

Well, if he survives this at least he's going to have to live with the fact that he killed 2 people.

i reallly hate drunk drivers, especially when they get in accidents

^obviously you have never made a mistake in your're life and are perfect. Well I guess lots of times people say stupid things and don't think about them, so I'm guessing that's what you are doing. Just because someone drinks and drives makes them a piece of shit asshat worth dying? Why don't you think about what you say. Cause you sound like a real idiot.

Don't bother arguing with somebody who has no sympathy for drunk drivers; it's an argument that you will never win, because those of us who think that way have absolutely no leeway in our thoughts when it comes to those who are wreckless with other people's lives.

No, I've never not made a mistake. However I don't PURPOSELY do something as reckless and thoughtless such as getting into my car and driving around smashed.

"Just because someone drinks and drives makes them a piece of shit asshat worth dying? "

And as for that, honestly, yeah, I think so. They clearly don't value their lives and clearly have no regard for the lives and safety of others on the road. Thus I feel that they shouldn't have the right to be out there playing russian roulette with other peoples lives.

yea dude about a month ago a kid i knew died from his friend driving drunk but htey were both drunk but the driver didnt even get hurt at all and the driver was my neighbor and he has to live with the fact that he killed his best friend for the rest of his life its pretty fucked up, he's a nice guy too i remeber going to a party at his house when i was in 8th grade and getting totaly wasted and we were all making fun of these slutty fat chicks that were bragging about getting laid....

shit happens way to fast

Actually, that was a really ignorant post. Have YOU ever had a friend (or close to 20 friends, as I have) killed by a drunk driver? I would assume not. He knowingly put himself and the lives of others at risk by driving under the influence. Why do you think the penalties are so high if you get caught (in the states, at least)?

I've been sooooo ridiculously drunk countless times, as many people on this site have, and yeah, I've made some dumb decisions while drunk (for example, skiing with a broken back), but driving with alcohol in my system has never even crossed my mind. Usually, if I know I'm going to be drinking, I'll either make sure I have a designated driver, or I'll crash at the house where the drinking is taking place and give my keys to either a sober person or have them locked up to where I can't get them until I'm sober.

I refuse to get in a vehicle with a person who is drunk, which leads me to my next point. Yes, I truly empathize with the deaths of the kids in that accident, but they also knew that they were putting their own lives at risk by getting into a car with an intoxicated person behind the wheel. I don't give two shits if they HAD to be somewhere - they should have considered that before drinking in the first place.

One case that I heard about that upset me more than just about anything happened in the lower mainland of British Columbia (Vancouver area) last year. A girl (who had to have been under the age of nineteen) used a fake ID to get into a bar. She got wasted, STOLE her friend's car, and ended up killing a 27-year-old man while driving drunk. She came out of it fine, and you know what her penalty was? No, not ten years in jail. She got 240 fucking hours of community service! That's complete bull shit! A friend of mine got over 500 hours of community service for petty theft and assault. Not only that, but they showed the bitch laughing with her friends on TV when she found out her "punishment". I was SEETHING, even though I didn't know the guy who died. Sure shows where priorities stand these days.

So you want my two cents? FUCK drunk drivers. I don't care who they are or what their excuses may be, but fuck all of them. I cut off all ties with one of my best friends for a while because he was consistantly driving drunk, even though I let him know how much it upset me and others. Yeah, he eventually quit and now does drunk driving talks for schools (grades 5-12), but that is probably the one thing that a person can do that will upset me more than 'most anything.
