Drum Machine or new Saga?

So after buying christmas presents for my family, i have about 150 left. My original plan was to buy a new guitar amp but i gave up after not being able to find any thing good for cheap. I now am looking at a used drum machine to put together beats, and to use with my cpu, but i dont know how much i will use it. The other thing am considering is getting some new saga sweatshirts which just came out. Any thoughts?

buy me these

Drum machine would be fun but I've thought about getting one and don't see the point. IMO its easier to work with everything on your computer for producing, adding outboard audio stuff just makes everything more complicated, which is usually not a good thing unless you really want to work with that piece of gear. Another option is buying a MIDI controller and using it to control a software drum machine.

What drum machine were you looking at?

I was looking at the akai xr20 beacuse its cheap and i can get it cheap on ebay. I can use it as a midicontroller with a midi to usb cable and i have a midi keyboard and its simple to use so im good with that stuff

Ahhh yeah I was thinking about getting that at one point, so cheap and so sick. Main thing that would turn me off of it is the fact that you can't sample on it. Up to you but I'd personally save up and buy a NI Maschine or something with sampling instead.

thats way to expensive for me and i dont have traktor. for sampling i could probably find the cheapest mpc and get it used, any suggestions

The MPC 500 is definitely a good choice, the little "needs repair" thing underneath them on that site seems a little ominous though...

I was also just browsing around a music store today and came across the Maschine Mikro which retails for about 400, thats also an option (albeit more pricey, but less than the regular mashine).

And for whoever said real drums... The point is not to imitate a drum kit. Its a different instrument, thats like suggesting a violin player buy an electric guitar.
