Drones in Whistler: Y/N?

So I know you are not allowed to fly your drone within resort boundaries, but what about the mountains around it and the actual town (still obeying the laws like staying 30m away from buildings, etc.)?

I'm heading over from Australia to make a film, but I didn't have my drone last time. Am I allowed to get footage in surrounding mountain ranges or even on the same mountain, just outside the resort boundaries?

Really appreciate any help. Thank you!

Illegal to fly within 2 km of heli pad and 5.5 km of an airport. So between heli pad on hospital, the lake waterdrome (I think that counts) and the other heliport you're pretty much excluded from flying anywhere in town. You could definitely drive outside of town and fly a drone legally.

Look into local/ national laws regarding drones. In the U.S there are laws that prohibit flying within certain areas around an airport or helipad. You can get around this by complying with FAA rules. The altitude limit in the U.S is 400ft, but again, you can find legal ways to get around this.

Do your research depending on where you're flying. There are also some cool apps that show you where you can and cannot fly.

All the info is out there! Just do some Googling.

I think most private drone bans can only prohibit you from operating them while standing on their property, not where it flies.
