DROID 4 or IPHONE 4s? need help...

So im about to upgrade with Verizon and am trying to decide what phone to get.

I have an OG Droid X that has been good to me and I'm familiar with the android os and the Droid 4 has 4G, but everyone I talk to that has the Iphone has never had anything bad to say about them.

I'm teetering on which one to get cuz its going to be my phone for the next 2 years.

So fuckin ay, i'll let NS decide. Droid 4 or Iphone 4s? I'll make my decision off the first 50 comments....

the iphone is great. I know a lot of folks that hated them while they had droids then finally switched and were like wow. what the fuck was I thinking.

that being said, if you like your droid, might as well stick to it. Go into the store and mess around with iphones and droids. I love my iphone and have no reason to say anything negative about it. iphones are great phones. but im sure droids arent that bad. if your a pc person youll probably enjoy droid better cause its more open like your OS.
 
Everyone I know with an android wishes they had an iPhone, I know there are some fans here, but they're a specific group interested in customizing it with computer knowledge. Maybe wait for the 5 but if not, I say iPhone
 
Fuck smartphones. Just get an old Nokia with a SIM-only contract (as in, no phone, just minutes/texts/internet). So much cheaper. Smartphones are a waste of money.

 
Disagree. I love having my phone, camera, internet, email, calendar, and various apps all in my pocket whenever I need/want them.
 
don't get iphone! if you don't want to have the same phone as almost EVERY SINGLE PERSON. you can do more with android anyways. i have the og droid and it's doing fine.consider the razr maxx, its battery lasts a whole weekend. 21 hours of talk time compared to 8 on iphone.

Honest to go God the iphone is the best phone ever. It elimantes the need for an ipod and i like being able to access everything on the go. The software and interface run really smoothly without issue unlike my old droid which was a piece of crap. If you get an iphone dont go for 4s. I have it and siri isn't really worth the money unless if you need directions while driving..Get it in 16 or 32 gig because that way you'll be able to have a lot more on your phone than if you rocked the 8gb.
 
this.I have a 32gb iphone4 and I have about 1000 pics and videos, 1000 songs and 150 apps and I still have 16 gb's left.... lots of room for more.
 
Hey do you want to use a different keyboard? Oh that sucks you can't. What about different music managing applications? Any home screen widget (which are great)? Need to make a quick change from where you are, ouch a menu button would be really helpful right about then wouldn't it? Not just the background, literally everything about Droids can be chosen to the users preference.
 
I don't own an iPhone, which you would know if you had read this thread, nor do I give a single fuck about installing different ROMs on my phone. You probably don't either, but since you need to feel superior to iPhone users since you own an Android phone, you post about it in threads like this.
 
iPhones tend to have less problems I think. With Android phones it seems to be hit or miss. Some of my friends have nothing but problems with theirs, while others love them. I have a Samsung Rugby Smart and it's awesome. I wouldn't want an iPhone because I beat the shit out of my phones and need something tough. I also like my droid because I can constantly change the way it looks by changing backgrounds, widgets etc. I get bored with one thing easily.
 
You're so much more in touch with everyone with an iPhone because everyone has an iPhone. That's the main reason I got an iPhone. Also you can be damn sure your iPhone won't have problems but if it does they replace it faster than you can start to regret getting an iPhone
 
Im about to pick up an iPhone because I have an upgrade(using a POS Blackberry right now). Ive never used a droid before but I feel like Apple has perfected the touchscreen and what not. Im sure with a little tweaking/helpful youtube videos you could do anything the droid can do on an iphone. +1 iPhone +its just a fuckin phone man just flip a coin if its that hard of a decision for you.
 
If you ask the question, you will be way happier with an iphone. I have an iphone. I don't know what I'm "missing" by having an iphone, and I couldnt care less. It does everything I want it to and more.
 
Fuck this will a tough 1st world decision. I dont like mac computers and would be able to stream all the shit from my computer but damn that iphone 5 sounds like its going to be legit.
 
why the 4 or do you need a keyboard? There are better androids on verizon

To the guy about an iphone is good because then you don't need an ipod ... srlsy? i don't even...

Androids play music too, google music is nice and you can just stick all your songs on your sd card

and the guy with the blackberry and iphones might have perfected touch screens? .. high end androids are just as good touch screens... i know a friend had a BB storm a long time ago, yeah touch screens don't suck anymore.

to the guy regarding the iphone and storage ... just get an android that has an sd card slot.

my phone (the rezound) has 16 integrated and you can put in a card. it came with a 16 card but you can upgrade to 32 or even fucking 64 if you need that much.

The rezound is pretty neat and comes with a $100 pair of headphones that are pretty good if you don't like you can sell em for like $50-$70,

it has a 720p screen

4.3 in screen

dual core 1.5 ghz processor

nice graphics card for phone

the GPS locks on fast and accurate you got a garmin in your phone pretty much, google maps and navigation is nice.

SD card slot

removable battery,( can get spares, or extended if you really want to i don't need one personally just use stock)

Yea im starting to think I dont need that slide out keyboard. I was just at the verizion store fuckin around with the phones. That razor maxx I like. You can definitely tell a difference with the iphone when it comes to the touch screen quality. That retina display is badass
 
i had this same dilema about a year ago, and decided to go with the droid X2. the droid ist bad, but whenever i see people with an iphone it seems so much faster, and simpler. but im also not too into computers so i dont get too fancy on my phone. so basically id say go with the iphone,
 
so i made the switch from droid to iphone about a year and a half ago now, i must admit i had one of the very first models of android, i fucking hated that thing, anytime there would be a software issue from an app, restart the phone.

What i like about my iphone is that plain and simple it just fucking works, if an app fucks up, it goes back to the home screen and you restart the app, NBD.

Also, arguably if you jailbreak your iPhone, it is the more customizable than any droid on the market, and i've seen some pretty dope set ups on jailbroken iPhones.

Also, you can opt to leave your iPod at home if you wanna travel light.

i'm rockin' the evo and have been rooted/s-off since the day i got it. currently running fresh (older, i know) and i forget which kernel, but it works flawlessly.

probably going to flash cm7 this weekend some time and do some playing around with AOSP.
 
Just popping in here to say iPhone 4s. Honestly you can't go wrong with an iPhone if you are looking for a smartphone to do your normal smartphone stuff with.
 
To the guy saying the retina display is bad ass the rezound has i higher ppi (pixels per inch) so sharper quality, it is also a retina display because their definition is 326ppi or more

The rezound has more ppi 341 and has more screen.

iphone 4s is at 330 ppi respectively.

Both are high but the rezound has more screen and still a denser pixel layout

the guy about jail broken iphone's having more possibilities than an android doesn't know shit.

and you don't need an ipood. every phone out now has an audio out headphones jack and you can put all your iTunes songs on your phone. At least don't make this a positive of an iphone because android can do that exact same thing.

Yeah the rezound didn't get s-off till the junopunutbear method and it has a hardware aspect to it too, have to stick a wire onto two contacts while running a program.

Don't have AOSP yet and the dev working on it was just run off buy a lot of peopling bitching i guess. It's a shame.

But sense 4 is nice.
 
that sucks. i had s-off and mod'd hboot from the beginning without having to jump the board. 've never worked on aosp, so i'm stoked to check it out. heard a lot of good things about it.



what's going on with sense 4? what all does it bring to the table?
 
i got a galaxy s2, had it for half a year now, in the first few months alone i got tons of compliments on the screen size and quality. I dropped it in a pond 10 days old, pulled the battery, rinsed it, still working fine 6 months. Im rooted running ice cream sandwich, fucking loooove it
 
It's a lot more light weight compared to 3.5 and 3.6

Htc realized they made it too bloated, it takes less system resources and still has the sense feel and everything.

I don't remember if the earlier ones had landscape mode but 4 does and it's really smooth and appealing.

Lots of little changes I didn't spend much time on the earlier versions but it's nice for sure.
 
The best thing about android is there are soo many themes and you can change everything, if you want to.

For people that don't want to mess with their phone much i'd get the nexus.
