Driving out to Washington this January, resort suggestions?

I *might* be driving from NH to Washington this winter to visit a friend near Seattle and I thought why not throw a little skiing in the mix? Obviously being out west I'm looking for good powder/trees, last time I was out there I was at Alta. I'm looking for some suggestions on places to ski in the area, the two big ones I already know about are Mt. Baker and Steven's Pass. I know the area around Park City is full of ski mountains, so you can jump around there pretty easily. I'm not sure if this is the case in Washington.

I'm doing some searching right now, but obviously you can't beat local knowledge. Any suggestions/tips would be appreciated.

if you don't have avy gear (beacon, probe, shovel) and a good guide then i would steer away from baker.

stevens pass you really can't go wrong.

don't ski snoqualmie

crystal is not as popular as stevens/baker but has superb lift infrastructure, tons of terrain, and excellent skiing

this, crystal is the most "popular" mountain in the region in terms of sheer amount of people riding there. Weekend lift lines SUCK soooo much compared to anywhere else.

Steven's and baker are the best out here pretty much. Do both if you can. Baker is going to be a bit of a drive from Seattle, but Steven's is only an hour and a half, two if traffic is bad.

He is doing it for pussy, its the only explanation. I did that this summer on a much shorter scale. Be sure that skiing is the primary goal and not the pussy though~

No way, the skiing here sucks balls, the only thing worth doing is getting some pussy and getting the fuck out of WA.

Stevens. Stay away from baker, all it does is rain, which makes for horrible snow pack causing some of the biggest avalanches in the world, like they're fucking massive man. All the locals do is bitch about fucking canadians coming down, and crashing there Audi S4's on the 542. Fuck this shit just stay in NH.

Ya, go to Xtal. Most consistent, easy to find good snow, good terrain, fun little jib park if the snow is not happening. Way better then anywhere else.

Anyway, anyone read the baker patrol article in the new powder? It was pretty dope.

That the risk with baker and being closer to the ocean, it has more rain, but when it dumps, it dumps! Its extreme on both sides. Other resorts will be more consistent

cant go wrong w/ Alpental on a decent day. Just 35 mins from downtown seattle, and snoqualmie has te best park in WA wich is part of Alpental.

nah more like snocompton.

and all the ppl who hate on snoqualmie and say stevens is the best, imo have never even truly explored alpental and east. If you know where youre going, its good at any mtn in wa. theyre all decent and worth the trip

I just did while taking my daily shit. That was pretty cool. Fucking 16ft avy crown... I read that and shit myself, except I was already on the toilet so I actually didn't. Anyway, that is a ridiculously large avalanche. That slab is like a fucking two story building.

I remember the day I saw that aftermath. I was like holy fuck. We're dealing with something entirely insane this season, and I'm not going outta bounds this week. Hahaha.
