i saw this thread and i was disgusted.

It's one thing to blaze, i love gettin a lil high. But i don't think driving high is at all ok, i knew someone who got killed by a high driver

when your high your reaction speed is lowered, your judgment goes out the window, you lose alot of your peripheral vision. driving high is NOT SAFE. sure you can drive without hitting a tree, so your fine, right? everyone with their license has been an experience where if you don't make the right call fast enough, your fucked. they only happen like 1 a month, maybe even less, but its those times that will get you into trouble when your high.

I agree. I bitch at my brother constantly for doing it and he still does it. Even after rolling his non-rollable jeep.
 
yeah, i did that once and it was a horrible fuckin idea, and i'll never do it again. it wasn't even that far, but not only was it scary, but it sucked nuts while i was doing it.

I think I do this every day.. I have never been in an accident, been pulled over multiple times blazed and never gotten a ticket, been driving for four years.. I'm a better driver high than most people on the road that are sober..
 
80% of the time when i smoke we tour. i wouldnt do it if i knew it could harm others and i know im more concentrated while driving. so let the hate start flowin but i disagree.
 
yeah being high does not impair my vision. and i remember reading somewhere that a study they did on high drivers said that they are actually more careful and more aware of driving safe because they are high.
 
I believe that only experienced smokers should drive while ripped. If you know how it will effect you and how you react to it, then I believe it isn't a big deal. The only problem I ever have is missing a turn. It all depends on the individual, so don't generalize to the whole population.
 
i disagree, im not just some kid saying 'im fine' but realy, there is no diferance between my high driving and normal driving, and im calling BS on your brother or whoever was killed by a high driver
 
If you can't drive when you're high then you more likely can't drive sober. Driving high is literally driving sober, so nice on road trips, time passes so much faster.
 
haha what? you said you got pulled over multiple times. you cant be that great of a driver (unless you got pulled over for something unrelated to your driving).
 
i have drivin 3 times only driving hours cause i dont really care. but im 2/3 of being blitzed while drving, so suck my bawls

I drive high all the time, but you're a fag.
don't belittle what others think, just say okay an go on with it... your life will improve
plus don't encourage high driving, the last thing we need is people who are uncomfortable while driving high out on the road. It's okay if you drive high and can function, but i hope you all use good judgement when you do.
 
i drive better when i am high. It all depends how it affects you. I drive high all the time and the times I have actually gotten pulled over were when I wasnt and thats very rare.
 
That sucks to hear about your friend, RIP.

Chances are the person who killed him was a bad driver, who was also high.... not a good combo at all. There are some horrible drivers out there, and they get even more reckless when they are high. My little brother has a half-tard friend (probably) who is super aggressive when he drives. To add to that, he blazes a lot, and when he is blitzed and driving very aggressively, he'll be on his phone or blasting tunes.

On the other hand, I have been a solid driver for almost 6 years now, and I have also been smoking weed for several years now (probably around the same... 6 years). When I was a rook driver I never considered driving high, but now that I've come to understand how weed affects me, I can drive confidently while high (I am more attentive to the rules of the road, making sure I check my blind spots, check intersections, etc... stuff I do subconsciously when sober, I just make myself sure that I am being safe when driving high). There have been times where I was WAY too high to be drive, so I didn't drive.

 
dude i drive high plenty. and a couple times i drove WITH my mom or dad in the car and they never noticed a difference so I am going to have to go ahead and um disagree with you there
 
There we're only a couple times when i was TOO high to drive. One was at a State Radio concert and I ended up passing out before it started and sat in the bathroom for 95% of the concert trying to stay concious. The other time was before a school field trip we were all blazing at a friends house and I smoked wayyyyyy too much and when I stood up to go out to my car I passed out, fell over, broke my pipe, and the jar with my bud in it... I decided it was a better idea to ride to school with someone hahah... that was a rough day. But, I know when I shouldn't drive and that's the important thing.
 
I drive high probably 90% of the times I smoke. I'm not saying it's a good thing because a lot of the times I get really scared. But at the same time it really does make me focus a lot more because of how sketched I get.
 
if you just started driving, and you blaze alot: don't drive.

if you just started blazing alot, and you've been driving for a while: don't drive.

only after slowly building a tolerance and learning your limits should you start to even consider driving. like short two mile trips when no one else is around. then progressively get longer drives in, and get better while driving. i've been driving while blazing for close to two years now, and i'm alright at it- as long as i'm not trying to get somewhere fast.

my ride to/from college/home is 146 miles, and the fastest i've drove that is 2 hours and 20 minutes. the only way i can go nearly that fast is if i'm completely sober. if i do the drive stoned, it increases to at least 2 hours and 40 minutes. everything just seems so rushed while driving faster, and i just dont feel safe driving fast stoned.

I once saw a video of a study done on driving high. They had a road course set up with random everyday driving tasks, (parallel parking, backing into a spot, K turns, normals turns at varying speeds, and an emergency braking section).

They had this guy who was a regular consumer of weed go through the course sober first and then it showed him smoking a spliff to the face. Once he was good and high they made him take the course again.

It was funny because his results were better the time he took the course high. The test subject said that because he was high he focused more on the tasks at hand to make sure that he didn't mess up. But he definitely knew what he was doing and had complete control at all times.

I cannot count the number of times that I have driven high before or smoked while driving. And during those countless hours of driving I have had to emergency brake for a deer running right infront of my car, have asshole drivers cut me off, and deal with heavy traffic in all 5 boroughs of nyc. All of which I did completely fine even if I was completely blasted.

Driving drunk impairs your motor controls. Driving high for a seasoned responsible smoker does not.

You are right on that one because a lot of terrible drivers will say that they are good ones. I can say that many people have told me I am a good driver sober and high. The exact same driving skill for both
 
I have a super good theory- but maybe its just me.

So, when you get high, you automatically (i've found this to be true) have a paranoia of police. So, when you drive high, that paranoia is even worse. You become afraid you're going to see cops everywhere, henceforth you drive AMAZING and follow all the rules so you won't be pulled over. I hardly ever go above the speed limit if I'm not sober and driving, however, when I am sober, I speed everywhere.

Although its true its all on how high you are and how it affects you.
 
its just like anything else...if you use it just lightly or dont go crazy driving nis fine but if your supppperrr rripped that it prob is better you dont drive tho iv dont it and driven fine
 
dude shut the fuck up, it does not do shit to your reaction speed, i ski high every day and i can do my tricks cleaner and better when i get high. The more u do it the more u get used to it, yess it is a dumb idea to let a newb at smoking to drive a car but im saying i can control my life perfectly and im high about 75% of them time!

eh it depends cause sometimes its not a big deal at all but then sometimes its a pretty ridiculous. i still drive fine usually but i definitely dont feel like i should be drivin
 
Marijuana affects different people differently. Its not like alcohol where it makes everyone stupider. I know some people who can focus and function better when high. Others get plumb stupid. For me I know Im a better driver when Im not super blazed. If I smoke a little then yes I focus on the road better than if I was sober. Weed also makes me do better in school.

yes i do smoke weed, on a regular basis. i have a bowl named "the grub" and a bubbler, which has yet to be named. i have about 3/4 of a gram in my room right now. that is without a doubt one of the most shameful posts i have ever seen made on NS, "work for the government?" are you fucking retarded? i'm not even going to bother arguing with a little shit like you. and P.S. i dont hate everyone who drives high, i9 dont think there fucking idiots, just this kid. i just don't like the fact that people think it's cool, because it DOES lower your reaction speed, thats a fact. you can't argue that shit.
 
Alright no hate that you know someone that got hurt from driving high..... but I get high probably 2-3 times a day and drive at least every other day if not every day wicked high..... it's not that hard.... at all. If you're new to smoking then I could see why it would be so sketchy because it's a new feeling, but don't know if you think about how many accidents happen when people drive drunk vs. people driving high.... it's way safer. If anything, I slow down and am a much more mellow driver.
 
i rode in a car super stoned (gf and two other mutual friends came and got me... long story) and i got SO damn scared just sitting in the back seat i couldnt understand how someone could drive stoned. i saw the same, spotted hunting dog running across the road every 15 feet or so. left to right everytime. always from the left to the right. i think i have problems.
 
I drive high from time to time, and I know its not a smart thing to do. But honestly? this post is just ridiculous, and you are by no means spreading the peace or making anyone want to smoke weed by posting shit like this.
 
in all honesty, i think in the past three years there is a good chance that i've driven high more than i've driven sober. and i can honestly say that it has made me a better driver...i don't speed, and i can actually focus much better. just gotta get some good tunes and jam out, helps me out a lot.

and to prove it, i've been driving with friends high as fuck before and have legitimately saved our lives twice, while high. not to mention this one time i was driving at like 2am with my friend on a super dark country road, and at the last possible second i saw a dog right in the middle of the road and expertly downshifted, slowed down and swerved around it without blinking. we even got out, got the dog and called it's owners who were the happiest people i've ever met - and they totally knew we were baked out of our minds. I'm so fucking proud of that night.
 
a 'non rollable jeep?' haha good one jeeps are just about the most rollable vehicles on the road. especially wranglers. i hope your brother is ok.

but as far as drivin high goes...you will get used to it.

eventually to the point when drivin straight seems to be the aberration. drivin high will be the norm. not sayin its right...but thats the progression
