I think if any of skiing's unsung hero's needs an appreciation thread, its Riley Poor. But in a close second it would have to be Drew Lederer. You all know who he is. The big guy, usually in his blue and red Empire beanie, Lugging a giant plastic ski case full of who knows what for his shots. Who else flies to Sweden on his own dime with that much equipment just to get the shot? Not to mention he's the man companies call to rescue them when they cant get the coloring right on their vid, so all the happy little groms out there can be stoaked on this season's new ski porn. Ever intelligent, and never afraid to show his opinion, even if it pisses you off, he knows more about cinematography than most directors and ski movie CEOs. Lets face it, being that he's the dude who gave up his high school social life in order to perfect the ski movie, its paid off. You can clearly tell a "Fatman" shot in a movie when you see it.

So lets hear some Effing appreciation NewSchoolers!!!!!
 
heck yeah. it was one of his edits that first got me into freeskiing. it was one with some shots from x games or something and it had black magic by swollen members. it was sick.

his work is amazing

i remember meeting him at dumont cup. he was up top messing w/ his camera before the comp started and after i returned from the hospital(due to broken ankle in practice) to watch the rail comp i saw him by the lodge. i wasn't sure who he was and approached him wondering if he filmed my crash. i was high as shit from morphine and asked who he was. he said "i'm drew" and i instantly blurted..ohhh drew the fatman!!!! hahaha he probably thought i was retarded. pretty pointless story but i thought it was quite epic.
 
Drew is a cool dude, he really helped me out when i was younger. he'd often coach me when i was learning tricks lol. he def knows the ins and outs of filming but also every trick. he studies ski vids and understands how each move is done. I'm stoked on this thread!

he's been working hard for years and is continueing to progress when so many filmers simply stay at the same level.

I can't wait to see what the future holds for the FatMan.
 
Fatmans got a good eye for sure, his reel from this year is sick! I just don't understand why people make aliases to make posts like this.
 
not sure about this one, hacker kid... don't think he would creat a thread to auto-props himself... Anyways, sick filming and yes, he has come a long way and has a great filming style. looking forward to see more innovative footage this year.
 
hey skodeo7, my name's teddy liebowitz, and drew has been my best friend since we were both in the second grade. i help him out alot with pbp whenever they're in town, and obviously i gotta rep my boy. if you dont believe me, look up teddy liebowitz on facebook. you'll notice that my full name is teddy charles liebowitz, and my birthday is 2/27.89, hence tcl227. something tells me that if you look at all the proof in my screen name, and my information, you'll see nobody is going to go through all that trouble to prop themself. the reason i made this thread is so that people could talk up fatman a bit, to get people stoaked, and get his shots a little more recognition by the top companies. again, just doing what i can to help my boy out

called out? i was never hiding anything to begin with. and when i logged back in and saw a kid thought drew was doing this himself i promptly set the record straight.
 
I never said it was Drew himself, I just said it was an alias, read a little closer brah.
 
Yeah dude I remember when Drew started filming like 5 year ago. At first he sucked but he worked so hard, took full months off of high school just so he could film every day, and now he's one of the best in the world.
