Dress Shoes

Ok,

Interesting dilemma. I figure a lot of you guys are probably like me, you have 3 pairs of nikes, 2 pairs of athletic shoes, some flip flops, and maybe some moccasins or moon boots. So then formal rolls around, "shit shit i should have some dress shoes." what kind of dress shoes do you guys have?

I hate all the ones from a google on dress shoes, and i hardly even care what i look like.

i know lots of people use vans classics, which is probably what i'll get, but any other ideas on formal/prom/dress shoes?

I am not a church kid and neither is anyone in my family, so i wouldn't have them for that.
 
just go get yourself a classy pair of dress shoes. they will probably last you a ridicules amount of time because chances are you wont be wearing them every day.

i know i for one would feel like a colossal idiot in say black dress pants and anything short of dress shoes. IE your sick dunks. haha
 
i'll second what he^ said...just go and buy a pair...i don't know your age but for senior prom i went and bought a nice black pair of dress shoes since i wasn't growing any more and they will last me for a long long time...i'll wear them to funerals/weddings/church...i haven't been to a funeral or a wedding in 4 years and church in 2...so those babies have a long time to go.
 
Dress shoes are important in any wardrobe.
I prefer a man in the loafer style. (no, they are not just for gay guys)
 
yeah man just go for a nice pair of real dress shoes something plain and classy and then you wont look like the rest of the slobs bein real ignant in their "sick dunks"
 
i hate dress shoes in general, no matter what you will look somewhat gay but so will everyone around you. so its all good.

I've got a pair of classics like these and a pair of the gold cups. They last forever and look good too.
 
Don't listen to anyone who said Dunks, they are all retarded. Also, don't wear Sperrys. They're great shoes, but not for a suit. Just buy some nice, black, lace up dress shoes. Like others have said, they last forever and you won't look like an idiot.
 
Anyone who wears fucking sneakers with a suit is a massive douchebag. Do not do it.

Go to any nice clothing store and buy some dress shoes. Invest a few hundred in a good pair that'll last you.
 
just bought myself a new pair of dress shoes. they are Concepts by claiborne. very stylish and comfortable. DO NOT wear sneakers with a tux or suit, you will look like a poor homeless clown.

Also investing in a nice pair of dress shoes is esssential, not only for formals or weddings or shit but for Job interviews. If you show up to ANY job interview dressed to impress you have a greater chance to get the job.

A nice pair of black dress shoes is essential for any wardrobe.
 
The shoes make the outfit and on such an important night, you don't wanna be the loser wearing kicks with your suit. If you're at a point where your feet have stopped growing, then it makes sense to invest in a decent pair of dress or dress casual shoes. Look into Steve Madden: they're inexpensive, stylish and comfortable.

don't be cheap and buy a damn pair of real dress shoes, wearing dunks to a formal event makes you look stupid, also sperrys are a more casual dress shoe which would also look somewhat idiotic with dresspants.

classic black leather dress shoes, go to the store there's a ton of different styles, but they are all mostly the same, and buy them, easy as that.
 
I like to look nice and over dress randomly sometimes. look at definitivetouch.com. some of the shoes posted on there are probably way out of your price range but just to get a look at how formal really looks
 
shit i wore my dunks to homecoming and got so many compliments, fuck all you haters... i agree wearing dunks with formal wear looks wack if you are a business man but shit were in high school, dress fly.
