Sup doc'!

I've been skiing basically like everyday for a couple weeks now and I got a knee that's sore as fuck. Should I put Ice or Hot stuff on it? Thanks doc.

ps: Yes I am aware this is a big sign of Aids and will get it checked out asap!
 
From my experience, if it's just sore; use warm to hot compresses or heat packs all around the knee. Ice is good for reducing swelling and numbing pain somewhat, but warmth tends to sooth achy, sore muscles/old injuries.
 
Ice it. 20 minutes ice, 30 minutes not. Elevate as well, and think- is there anything extra-gnarly you did that may have caused it? I'd let it rest for a few days. Don't ski or do anything really knee-extreme for a few days, and see if it starts to feel better. If it does, it's working. If it doesn't improve a bit within a few days, go see a real doctor.
 
oh damn that's sketch because I did hurt my knee but that was like 2 weeks ago so I don't think it's anything serious with it. Thanks for the help NS!
 
Ice for 20, Heat for 20, and elevate.
If you still continue to experience semi-extreme pain after a few weeks, seek professional medical advice.
(Unless it's already the size of a basketball - then go to the doc now.)
 
Where does your knee hurt? If it is sore on the front of the knee under the knee cap it's simply patellar tendonitis. I have that from too much skiing. TO help it, just use RICE (rest ice compression elevation) and then lightly work out your leg muscles to strengthen everything around the knee. If it still hurts, get checked out.
 
Yeah I think it's just my patellar intendentusorsamfsjsauce I actually put heat on it yesterday haha oups. Oh well I will know for tonight after skiing I guess! And do you have any work outs for the knees? I got a whole gym class that's just working out but I asked my teacher what to do to work my knees and bitch didnt know.
