1066626.jpegI have the 2016 dps wailer 99 tour 1 and I make 60K a year. To afford them, I saved my money for 2 years to get the full lightweight setup. The skis were luck, they were on sale for 800$ went I was shopping.

Dude, DPS skis are unreal outside the boundary line. These skis are far from flimsy; I race skimo with those skis and I swear by them. People who ski resort with them are just like jerries in the park.

The trick with not paying a ton is watching the sales all year round. Get them in the spring and be patient. Their Carbon skis are worth it.

The carbon ones actually ski good? Any carbon ski I’ve tried is deathly stiff and has no dampness

You gotta ski carbon differently. Cant be backseat for a second or they will send you in a straightline. They are deathly stiff, yes but thats what I need in a mountain ski. At shorter radius turns, the ski starts to store momentum and become fun as fuck to ride.

There are some massive pros to carbon:

-light and strong. I can climb 3000’ per hr and huck 20-30 footers on the same ski. I would never ride the resort with them though.

-excellant swing rate. I can do 360s just by popping.

-durable, its been since 2017 that I use them 80-90 days season in all conditions. Still going strong!

I got a pair of custom carbon skis, 122mm underfoot, they are aslmost as stiff as a 2by4 but they rip. So good in the deep, light or heavy pow and rip crud. Highly recommend carbon for anyone who skis fast and hard.

Had my BD Helio Carbon 105's for 6 years and they still rip. Light as fuck and float real good. Skied them inbounds a handful of times and they're only sketchy if you're skidding while going real fast.

Got a pair of Helio Carbon 95's for $400. Gonna do my first "real" tour on them tomorrow.
