Double Warranty Question Marker/Surface

I got a pair of no times this summer (brand new) and the first day, my heel piece tore out. The bindings were old and the heel piece was kinda fucked so I dont really know what was going on. Im not sure if it was the skis fault or the bindings. I dont blame the shop either, Skirack is super legit.

Anyway, I traded my brother a raincoat for some griffons (maybe 2 seasons old?) and got them remounted.

Literally the second day on the surfaces, I noticed a delam starting at the tip. By the 4th day on them the edge was completely ripping out. Fuck.

THEN, the next day (-20ºF, maybe colder) the heelpiece broke while hitting a shitty tiny bonk feature. I noticed earlier in the day, the heel piece also chipped off where you click in. Im thinking it was so cold the plastic became brittle and just broke.

My question is will either company warranty their stuff? I have no receipt for the griffons and they are probably 3 years old. I actually have the wreckage on film too so maybe that will help my case trying to get it warrantied?

The skis arent that bad but I did already tear out once, theyre gonna get worse, and if they dont Ill need a 3rd mount in 5 days of skiing.

+k for experiences and useful input, thanks for reading

i had my domains replaced for the same exact damage. however the base was cracked because of the rivets. It is a similar situation and is worth trying to get replaced!

bump. im in the middle of a crisis.

my backup rossi scratches from last season have 12 inch tearouts on all edges, and a core that is splitting with the binding tearing out from the topsheet.

this is the shit thats gona happen when you get shit stuff. Learn your lesson dude. NEVER BUY MARKERS. I have had personal experiences that are bad and painful. I dont have personal experience with surface but everyone says they brake easily. INVEST IN GOOD SHIT AND THIS SHIT WONT HAPPEN!

thanks for your useful input. Im asking if anyone has had similar issues and warranty experiences with similar products, not what i shouldve done instead you stupid fuck. I have a pretty good idea of what good ski gear is, and if you took the time to read the thread instead of being a useless piece of shit, you would see that I got the bindings from my brother in trade for a raincoat

and lucas, marker doesnt take warranty emails so thats why im trying to see what people have to say here before going to a shop. figured id see about the surfaces while im at it since im not really trying to pay for a 3rd mount in 6 days on the pieces of shit

one of my friends had no times and snapped them soon after buying, and i know of alot of people snapping them. as far as markers go, i've had 3 pairs of jesters with no complaints.

Hit surface up. I know the owner and they are pretty good guys over there they'll help you out. That's pretty unlucky. Best of luck

Why are you confused if it was the ski or the binding? The binding, from the looks of the pictures you've provided, broke. I'd say its the binding, and if its old but you know where you purchased it, hit the shop up and ask nicely, if they can't do anything for you, you'll be out a few minutes of typing on an email or calling on the phone, never hurts to ask. I'd ask your brother to see if he can do the same on his pair too, just give him a sixer or something, provided he's of legalish age.

I did read the whole thread, and if you are saying that you expect a warranty after 3 years, then you are not really thinking about how warranties work. I can see that you don't know how to solve this problem, and I am just saying that these problems wouldn't have happened if you didn't acquire iffy products to use. You could have chosen different bindings to use instead of using old markers for example. So as it turns out YOU, SIR, ARE A STUPID FUCK.

I've done 2 marker warranties this year (I work in a ski shop) basically if you have a shop that is helpful enough you can get them to call up maker file a warranty claim get an RA number and the shipping address. Put said RA number on box that is brightly legible and pay the shipping and marker will typically send a new one out with in 2 to 3 weeks.

I have seen dukes go back that were probably 3 to 4 years old and they got replaced with brand new ones this year. As well as a griffon from this year that had its heel piece broken just like you showed and was replaced as well. Marker is pretty good about making sure that it does a good job with its warranties but I will say that they lack in the ability to make a binding that is durable.

As for surface, I would go where you bought them and just make a claim as to what happened. You'll probably have to call up customer service or whatnot, but if you want your skis replaced, you have to prove/show to them that it was in fact a ski defect rather than a user caused problem.

Anyways, hopes this helps, I can probably give you a lot more information about marker warranties if you need me so PM if you want.

i was confused because i mounted the surfaces with some shitty old axials at the beginning of the season and they tore out first day ( i didnt post pics of this). Im not sure if tearing out is the fault of the ski or me putting on shitty bindings.

THEN i put on the griffons and they broke shortly after
