Last month in Spokane, Washington, Travis finally pulled what many people said was impossible—a complete double backflip. yeah thats sick, pastrana is really fast too, but he kills himself whenever he is out on the track. i guess hes really focusing on freestyle now..

That's pretty cool, you'll see in like 6 months the backflip will be a shitty trick, just like today in skiing. Anyone who's not in the sport thinks its insane, but we all know its an old school trick.
 
someone wanna explain how youd do a 360 backflip on a dirt bike i had someone explain it to me before but it didnt make anysense
 
thats so not right. I don't even know how he sits on the bike with those cantaloupes. yeahy if on of them got a bike with a different tranny so nuetral was between 4th and 5th they could probably land switch. That would be intense, a 180 off a 80 foot jump.
 
they arent really 360 back flips. they are flatspin 3s, but sometimes it just turns into a fucked up backflip. so just think of a flatspin 360.
 
man that is sick. I was getting sick of all the pros doing nothing but backflips over and over...it got old really quickly.
 
Um...think about that for a minute. 540s would be impossible on a bike because even if you did somehow land backwards the momentum would throw you off and youd fall back on your head and die. and even if bikes had a reverse it would do nothing for landing backwards. Netrual would have the same effect instead
 
Yeah I agree with you there man, but I also have to wonder where its gonna stop. Theres gotta be a limit somehwere. And I think that we may not see a huge progression into double flips for a long time. I mean it was only a few years ago that a backflip won comps. It was so dangerous that no one wanted to attempt it. Now theyre commonplace--that doesnt make em any less dangerous though. So I guess we just have to wait and see. But a doubleflip is sick as hell.
 
that sequence almost looks fake. so shitty. I know its not but either way, for a major publication like ESPN, that is horseshit
 
They spin the first 360 like they do now, but then spin the last 360 like you would on a bike. It's insane to watch, looks unreal almost.
 
you cant go backwards on a dirtbike, trust me. 540's are imposible, i havent heard about pastrana pulling 7's into his pit tho. alright i'm out, gotta dirtbike race :-p, what a coincidence, wish me luck.
 
im just hanging out for a guy on a moto to do a true 3, not a bastardised flatspinny backflippy thing but just hauling the thing around.
