Doomsday Preppers

Anyone ever watch this show on NatGeo? I have recently started watching this show and have seen every episode up to date from my knowledge. Anyone make any preps of their own? Just curious for any new ideas other people have.

I just like to see the crazy stuff people prepare for haha.

Although I can understand people preparing ,some people on that show are just cray.

Some of the preps are for disasters that are super unlikely, such as Radiation from the Japanese reactor meltdown getting into our food supply. When I saw that I was like really? If the Japanese are still alive after 2 Atomic Bombs and a Nuclear reactor meltdown, our food supply will be just fine. But some of the preps are plausible such as an EMP, (solar or terrorist), or financial collapse are plausible IMO.

I dont get why the one guy wanted an underground bunker for a flood. Doesn't make sense to me.

Had to leave my guns and bullets to my parents when I moved to the city. Bought some 25# bags of rice and beans and threw them in a closet, some rope, knifs, water, just some essentials, which is always good to have on hand

I guess I would qualify as a prepper, I have a bug out bag with a camp stove, change of clothes in a dry bag, dry food, survival rifle, 100 .22 rounds, head lamp, gps extra batteries, a few knives, paracord, snares, fishing line some hooks,a sleepimg bag and tent can strap to the outside. I'm sure there is more I cant remember. I do need some water purification tablets or drops. I just always keep the bag packed so when I want to go camping I just have to pick it up and go pretty much. depending what I'm doing I have a lot more gear

I dont get why each person picks a different very specific thjng to prep for..it seems smarter to prep just in general than it doss for some random one like a volcano eruption, it kind of bothers me

One guy on there was just prepping in general and had the sickest setup I have seen yet. House was on a cliff side and had some state of the art security and sick whips. I should see if i could find a link for that episode.

Only 100 rounds? a 550 Brick from walmart is light enough as it is.

I try to keep prepped, I have a BoB/ carbag loaded with 3 days food (yay for spam), water purif, knife, several hundred ft of paracord, a folding gerber shovel (fucking awesome BTW, works great for unstucking the car, and I am sure it would do alright making some urban jumps, although its a bit small for that), an extra set of clothes in there and some cash. Plenty of other little odds and ends too. It generally has a few spare boxes of ammo for whatever gun I am carrying too, generally 9mm. I dont ski with it on though, I dont need a piece of Iron to slam into strapped onto my body. I tried figuring out a way to do it, its just not possible though.

Some people go way to far in it, spending every second prepping for something that won't happen in your lifetime

Yeah man, theres a level that is wayy overboard. I try to stay prepped for about a month on food, although I may or may not have enough ammo to start wwIII

No one knows what will happen tomorrow. I don't think prepping for a specific event is the best idea but rather just a general preparedness is best. It might not be an EMP or a financial collapse although those are plausible, but a terrible Natural Disaster would have a similar effect of anarchy so being prepared is never a bad thing but balance has to be kept. A years worth of food might not be needed because I feel like you would adapt by then but a few months is a good place to start
