hate to burst your bubble bud but 98mm last is NOT narrowest in the industry. Some ski boots come with a 95mm, 97mm and I have seen 92mm last from Lange. Its not just the measured width that one needs to consider, its the shape of the boot that matches your foot being the most important factor. People get too carried away on ,"oh, you have a C width foot, you need Boot A because its 101mm last." OR you have a double E you must grab some SPKS,"
This paints an incomplete picture. I have had both dalbellos and spks and after some stretching of my Dalbellos the width felt more comfortable. Having said that though, they gave me bad shin bang when it gets cold. Anyway, I digress.
Try boots on, its simple as that. There are some boots that will practically cripple one person, that'll feel like those coveted Nike 6.0's, to others. What works for one person wont work for everyone. There are so many other variables than manufacturers claimed last width that need to be considered when purchasing boots
eg; volume over instep, ankle room, forward lean, height of the cuff on the leg, flex, warmth, whether they leak, number of buckles, buckles vs cables, whether a person pronates/supinates, leg length differences, weight, ability, budget etc etc....
Try one on each foot one full tilt and one spk and you'll know which is better for you..
