so today I snapped the binding track on my s914 binding. This is the second binding track I have broken on Salomons. The other binding I broke was the s912ti. So both the steel and titanium bindings are shit and since they don't make any others you probably won't want to buy these. I broke the first doing a cork 5 and the second was a deep snow 180 and it wasn't even that big. FUCK SALOMON. Don't buy them

So go buy a Marker that pre-releases in the air and shatters toe-pieces like The Rock Shatters Heads, or Look's that have a penis-shaped heel that makes you feel like the first time in jail every time you wreck in the back seat. Everything has it's downsides...

i hear ya NEVER buy em. I totally agree, the wings on my 850s ALWAYS loosen up and i always get the feelin those are loose like im gonna just fall out of em. Fuckin salomon bindings just are made for park. Get markers or looks i say.

i've cracked the track twice on my 912ti's in a year, once warranteed, the other time they're just sittin on my floor, i'm goin with look or rossi cuz i think i weigh too much for salomon's or somethin but i'm only 190

S850s? Way to have bindings that are at least 3 years old. If you've put 3 seasons of abuse, particularly jibbing and big mtn riding, on a mid level binding like an S850, they're shot. Get new ones.

That S850s, after a minimum of 3 years of abuse, are now broken in no way reflects at all on the quality of Salomon bindings.

I can't believe some of the shit I read on this board now.

Well if two of you broke the heeltracks to your bindings, then one person can give sell the good one left to the other person. Its suck they break and they are prone to doing that, but just swap them up and make your bindings work.

Well... then why dont you try salomon s916 they are greate Ive used them for 2 ýears now before that I broke 4 or 5 914 and 912s the 916 is all metall ! otherwise Rossis race 185 or look p18 (the same binding as the rossis) are greate

 
916's aren't exactly the easiest things to find tho. think i'll stick with look or rossi since they seem to have the least probs with their regular retail bindings.

sports den has 916s. i got a pair but havent used them yet. i have had more trouble with rossi bindings than salomon in the past.

 
i was fucking around on a kicker and did a 180 with a perfect landing but for some reason my heel popped out. my DIN is higher now. they wont give me anymore trouble

yeah, so i was skiing today and busted the SECOND heel peice this year. i wasn't even jumping. i was carving a huge arc, hauling ass, and all of a sudden i was on my side sliding down the hill. the brake and the heel peice were everywhere. their bindings are shit or i got a defective pair. either way, i will not be buying them again.

who sells the s916? only sportsden? and i dunno, it all depends on how hard you ride. i weigh like 195, and ive had a pair of s912ti for two years, no problems.Even had them rip out of my pe's.

i got them on ebay and used them for half a season so far i hav no idea how long the 850s hav been used -seller said like half a season so thats one season asshole. Salomon bindings suck.

^you're an idiot. And you might want to have a good binding tech look at them. After that, chat with the Salomon tech guys as to installation. If you mounted them with no risers at all and short screws, your heelpiece tracks will always break. Look at all Salomon bindings and you'll see a heel plate. Even the 912ti.

yeah, but you can mount them without the lifters and with short screws, but i dont see how this would make them break easier. also if it does this blows because that is what i did with my brand new pollards.

If you abuse them they will break. I love Salomon Bindings, the 916's are the sickest and the 914's are super light. If you beat the S### out of them then for sure they will break. Respect you bindings after all they keep you knees alive.

salomon bindings are fine man...you're just not giving them enough TLC

but seriously, i've ridden salomon bindings all my life ( not for any particular reason) and i've never had any probs. right now, i ride s810Ti's on PE's and their holding up fine.

Elgato your a fucking moron, the s912s are way more dependable than the line bindings, line still needs to tweak a few things, don't go getting this guy into a nice long chain of sending shit back and warrantee issues, trust me, im their right now

yea, what else are you going to use? look boner bindings? they blow bigger, rossi ARE look, and marker well if thats ur thing, everything will break at somepoint

 
i have the salomon 711 and they are my best bindings yet, work perfectly and are super light without the riser plate. My skis are so light now cause I have lines with some salomons its sweet
