Donating to Charity Instead of Paying Ticket

This is for anyone in Ontario.

I might have to pay up to $1 000 to the socialist Ministry of Environment for not having a catalytic converter on my car. Anyone know if I can donate to charity instead? My towns poor as shit and needs help and these fags don't need another dime. Could donate to a food bank or something...

Thanks.

i'm from ontario... and why would you be able to donate to charity instead of paying a ticket?

i've never heard of the socialist ministry environment thing.. but is it a government operated system? if so, there should be no way that donating to charity will cover your ticket.

the government uses the money from your ticket, so if you donated to a charity that wouldn't suffice at all because the gov wouldn't receive any money. i'm not from ontario though so I have no idea what that group is/whether or not it's part of the government... although i'm guessing it is, because if it wasn't you wouldn't be obligated to pay the ticket.

I've heard of people doing it before, I don't really see how its a dumb question. I figured there's probably a 5% chance of being able to, so I might as well try. Giving $1000 to government is a COMPLETE waste of funds. It's going to get swished around in a bureucracy and the community will get $500 of it back. You must be a nanny state liberal or something....

haha i mean come on, if i got pulled over and got a ticket would i ask if i can donate money to charity instead? it just makes no sense. my comment was obviously over the top but come on, plus the "socialist" ministry of environment? must be SO socialist to enforce having a cat converter on your car..
