Domain Bases?

Has anybody else had any problems with their domain bases? Mine dry up super quick, like literally after 2 days of skiing the bases are getting white around the edges and after a couple more the whole base is going white. I've tried hot iron wax and hot roller wax, i've tried 3 different types of wax and nothing stops them from going dry.

Are they just really shitty bases?

I had the same issues when I had domains, they dried out super fast. Sucked as I was skiing about 100 days last season and i was waxing like 4 times a week

If your bases are drying out really fast it may be that you have damaged the top layet of base so it is not absorbing wax. If you have been doing rails this can cause friction which causes heat which can burn the base.

You ou could try getting a base grind to remove the top layer of base leaving you fresh base below. Thi should absorb wax better and so long as you keep waxing regularly they should be good.

I have been been testing the 2016 domains and the bases have been holding up well so I think it's more a maintainance issue then the base it's self.

nah it was happening before i started riding park. considering im waxing these skis the same way i've waxed my last couple sets of skis (line sfb & alpha 1s) and i never noticed this problem with either of those.

I go for a base grind then as Tom suggested, getting some structure in the base should help the wax absorb better and it'll make your skis faster.

For a full-on gear badass, please tell me you don't actually believe ptex bases absorb wax?
