Doing illegal stuff

Today as I was taking bus to work I got reminded about this perfect street spot but go make it work we would have to cut down 4-5 wrist diameter trees to clear out a run out.

And that raised a question- Where do you draw line to make spot work?

We all have been cutting out branches, sneaking in private property, using rope and workers vests to cut out people traffic on the streets at busy spot, smoothening rails with disk grinder to work.

Cut the tree low and drag it away from the area.

When someone shows up to kick you out, you don't want a freshly cut stump and newly felled tree there to exacerbate things.

Make sure you plant one or two trees somewhere If you cut it down

Some people didnt like that bdog added angle iron to make a wooden rail slide better but idgaf. Skiers see urban as like street skating but its not the same shit. If you can’t physically slide a rail idc what you do to make it work as long as the clip is dope. Obviously you can slide wood on skis but it doesnt always work like that and in that case adding the angle iron is like the equivalent to using a rub brick imo. I think people are way too tryhard and edgy about street which is hilarious because even some of the best street riders who complain about that shit hit little bitch spots which is way less cool than adding coping to make an unhittable feature actually slide on a huge spot

TLDR it’s situational. If the clip is sick than its sick but if you did too much than its not. Gotta shovel those stairs and keep the lips relatively low tho. Thats a given.

Better be a really cool clip to warrant cutting down some trees. Otherwise just do better at finding spots.

cutting down trees is ok, stealing children is not. (cut the trees so they grow back ;p)

[tag=175479]@AlexHall[/tag] vandalizing the dillon amphitheater for a crappy shot was completely unacceptable.

but seriously, gas works good for clearing your way, and burning bridges always lights the way....

Rather them steal kids. Trees are too important

i had to clear a thicket of small trees and bushes to get up the hill high enough to produce this ...

the trees have grown back, [tag=277146]@RCFS.TV[/tag] is still crying in his sleep.

[tag=175479]@AlexHall[/tag] you can hire me for $50 an hour to repair the damage you did at the dillon amp....

1086188.jpeg

unless your "ski career" is based around skiing playgrounds, you will have to whack a bush...

Yeah man, what kinda asshole would grind the handrails at an amphitheater?

The thing about the trees it that the owner of whatever business/building is there probably paid a good amount of money to plant those trees, so they could more motivated to press charges/sue.

If its natural trees on a large piece of land or something, or just some branches, it depends on the spot for sure but in the end, dont be a dingus and you'll be fine.

Branches are all good. Just say you’re assisting nature pruning and helping control debris for fire control lol

if the trees were planted intentionally as landscape let them go and find another spot

If they are pretty much just brush I think your fine cutting them

If it's possible to hit without cutting them, but you aren't good enough to do it that way don't cut them and find another spot.

Imo street skiers should try to do as little damage as possible so future people can hit spots without the property owner having a bad experience already. That and and also ruining peoples shit beyond easy repair is a dick move.

that doesn’t help

Play the long game and score the tree with a knife going around the circumference, making sure to go all the way through the bark. The tree will die and either fall on its own or get taken down. Less work and less risk than cutting the thing down.

do trees not grow back? lmao. totally agree if they are intentionally for landscaping don't cut them, but you'd have to be a major asshole/really stupid to do that.

core ^

how many of these so called tree hugging hippes have a real christmas tree every year? prolly dont recycle...

with that said, i have slayed a church rail, and yes, I T'd up a rail in front of a psych ward during business hours....

built lip on non stair side?

^i noticed this as well, 1080 boots and what appears to be k2 fujatives, so 2006? even than people took note of the lip

either way the other rail looks broken, or it was because i built it during the day while people used the walk/stairs and we went back when it was frozen,

Luckily spot is not worth of cutting down trees. Made this post more out of curiosity of what lengths have other skiers gone to make they’re spots work. Now I added photos with spot. Original plan was to gap over the fence and try not to die in a close out. My snowboarding homie hit it as mini spot-quick hop on the rail, then off and crouch under close out.

Think cutting out small branches are ok thing to do to not get cought up but as you can see in photo it’s right in a way.

I just wear all black, tuck my saw by my side, and go out on stormy nights in november to do local tree work. get in and get out. cut as low to the ground as I can, and let the incoming snow mask any sawdust.
