Does roller blading help with rail skiing?

So I have been thinking of maybe copping a pair of blades this summer to work on rails in the off season. Mainly to get more comfortable with unnatural slides/tricks. Question in point is, does this actually translate to the mountain? I can imagine it would help with getting used to sliding both ways, spinning out of features, etc. but I've never tried so wanted to ask.

Not sure about it helping with the feeling of sliding, but I have found that it really helps with keeping your weight super centered on landings. I think it also helped with my switch turns and getting comfy looking over both shoulders. Regardless you should get a pair because it’s so damn fun.

IMO blading is the best summer training for skiing, unless you have access to dry slope skiing.

Some of the best rail skiers started with blading and translated it to skiing (I think?) : Cal Carson, Sam Zahner, Daniel Hanka are the first that come to mind for me.

These are back you can buy them, I see montre riding (is that the right word lol) them all the time.

Also, rollerblading helps with skiing more than all other off-season training, especially rails. Pretty much every disgusting rail skier either rollerblades or skis year round.

I blade a little bit the way you ski a rail and blade a rail are verry different, so i think some aspects you can translate to the mountain

Yes. Also young snow and Jackson karsteter. Bdog and dollo didn't blade to my knowledge but they both have said they were heavily inspired by inline. It's a great activity for insp and off-season training.

BDog and Edollo bladed a little bit about 10 yrs ago when they got hooked up with skates from Brian Shima (him and haffey were really into skiing back in the day). Neither did it a lot afaik but they did post some clips lol

Ask [tag=258518]@FruitBootPro[/tag] pretty sure he sucks at both.

Won't deny this claim but blading still helped me practice general style and coordination that does translate over to skiing in the winter.
