Does pond skimming ruin boots?

I searchbarred and couldn't find anything even though i'm sure it's probably on here somewhere. sorry
anyway, i got new spk's this year, will it ruin them to skim if i sink?

yea, they will be wet, but ur boots always get wet when skiing, and they dry out! they will be fine

Don't do it. Yes snow is a form of water, but it is not liquid water. The foams and linings of the liner are not meant to be totally drenched and they will break down faster if completely soaked and dried out. Just get use a pair of beater boots or your old ones.

They'll be fine. I have gotten my boots soaked countless times and they are fine.

Also, even though it isn't ethical you could use a pair of rental boots.

Shells won't be affected, if you can find the same size liner of any boot and use that.
