Does longer narrower pow ski = shorter fatter pow ski ?

For example:

Sir Francis Bacon 184cm = Pollards Opus 178cm ?

I am considering buying a shorter ski this year to make pow trickery more easy.

Does this theory hold true? I feel as though the S.F.B.(184) and P.O.(178) have the about same amount of surface area.

Would I have the same amount of float?

well I guess technically they might have similar surface area, but both will respond differently to different snow conditions and situations
 
Even if it had the same surface area it would float differently. Also the shorter ski will get bashed around more easily.
