Does listening to music cause less injuries?

i understand that people like to listen to music (i personally dont) and that doesnt bother me. I almost feel like im less aware of surrounding noise like when im about to catch an edge on a sticky rail or something and you hear that its all about to go to custard.

I feel like i'm more likely to get injured skiing whilst listening to music. I come into the rail more relaxed and not as focused and I fear that I will slip and fall and injure myself. Although haven't hurt myself yet so all good.

not that this needs stating unless youre a moron, but that's just a stupid correlation thing. hmm, i wonder if people who own their own gear, or have nice goggles, get hurt less often? hmmmmmmmm

When you listen to music you can't hear anything else. Maybe someone was yelling to get out of the way but you couldn't hear them so now you have a broken leg.

Or you only use 1 earbud...

think.

why don't you hit a forty footer and land on your neck with music, and then do it again without, and if you got hurt less, we can know for sure

When Flacka comes on I literally feel invincible. This is how I dislocated my shoulder and tour my labrum. The report is completely false.

people who listen to music are usually more confident and a higher level of skier to the majority of people who don't listen to music and are less confident and fall more.

idk about higher skill level, but it definateley gets you pumped up and more confident

Well, I was hitting my backyard setup, got some 2's off and a switch up, then put on music and immediately landed sideways and heard my knee pop, and fell to the ground for like 5 minutes. Thought I tore my acl, but it's feeling mostly better now. But I still watched my knee pop out of place and heard a pop.

It relaxes me mind and my body so if you do fall. Your body won't tense up as much on impact.so yes it helps with injury prevention. Maybe not a lot of but it does help.

Music will not stop you from getting hurt, however i feel like music can stop you from feeling immediate pain in a crash or lessen the amount of pain you feel simply by increasing your adrenaline before doing something, but only if your listening to the music to get yourself pumped up, if your just cruising around it won't do anything. If you blast some DMX in your ears before dropping to do your first double and don't get it around completely it may not feel that bad.

Thats just from my personal experience.
