Does centered matter?

I have line prophets and its only my second year of freeskiing and i have heard both stories about where the bindings are located on the ski and i know that their is a center of weight on a ski but is it better when you have your bindings centered? and do i need to get skis that can do that specifically

it's all preference. I personally got my skis centered about 2 years ago and don't plan on ever going back unless it's a ski just for powder skiing, in which i'll prob. get 2cm back. It makes park skiing alot of fun but carving alittle more difficult

but this dude was saying something about a metal plate in the ski and my boot has to be right on top of it. Are there some skis where you just cant get them centered?

i know all skis have a suggested mounting point. i've never heard of a ski needing to be mounted in a certain spot. weird...

heres the deal: on the line prophet series, due to the metal matrix, there is a very small area for mounting. this area (recomended) is where the ski will perform best. you cannot center a prophet because you will be off of the metal. you could, ive seen it done, but its not what the ski is made for. if you want to center a ski just get a park si, or any ski for that matter besides the prophet, because regular skis you can mount anywhere and dont have funky metal areas to mount to. hope that helps
