Does Baker Check Lift Tickets

So i usually ski at snoqualmie but now central park is gone so i wanna camp in a tent at baker over spring break. They don't have a spring pass to buy, and i don't have money to buy seven individual lift tickets. My friend who went there about a month ago says that they don't check at all, so does anyone know if they check at all? I'd be pretty bummed out if I drove for 2 hours to get there and then I couldn't ski.

Thanks guys

they dont always, but they will periodically at any lift (including the upper lifts), and when they do, youre fucked.

alright, you guys pretty much just saved my ass, +k for all of you

good news though, summit west is reopening with a park!

there was one day that i vividly remember never being checked, but it was a weekday and not that amazing to be honest. every other time i've been i can remember being checked at least once.

buy a ticket, otherwise you could get in deep trouble.

uh isn't it kinda impossible to sneak through bachelors lines? because they have like a stadium style enterence to EVERYONE of their lifts.

I get my ticket checked on the first ride up from the white salmon area, but Im usually like 5th-20th in line when I do baker, so I dunno. Not so much later in the day though. Just buy a ticket, they are super cheap respectively.

honestly, one day i got by for an entire day at snoqualmie saying that i "my lift ticket fell off and i needed to go up so i could look for it"

mainly because it did on the first run, but the excuse still worked for an entire 6 hours.

not usually, but i got caught there a few years back and shit sucks. they have cracked down hard according to my homie who works up there. seriously though, midweek tickets are $41, thats better than almost anywhere in the country

thats debatable also. Shitty amenities, no night skiing, when the snow sucks there isnt much to ski, and there is wayyyyyyy too many "pros" or people who think they are going pro because they spent 1500 dollars on a arcteryx suit and some black diamond touring setup. Plus the pass is $650.

Not to mention it fucking pissed rain all year this year, and I am blaming it on all the idiots who make jokes that it only rains at Baker. Way to go.

that being said, I had the best pow day I have had all season yesterday. April 2nd, with like 20 degree temps. best snow all season straight up.

Its really not thay cheap. 47 bucks isnt that cheap. not even in comparison to other WA resorts. The best terrain you dont need a ticket to hit anyway...

so get i would have to disagree with just about everything you just said...

1.) shitty amenities??? your an idiot, thats because its not a resort. which is exactly the owners goal.

2.) there's no point to have night skiing, the terrain isnt open enough, they would have to light the whole mountain ($$$$) and the drive at night would suck.

3.) baker probably has more talented local riders than any other mountain in WA(stevens as a second). you wanna talk about spoiled skiers/boarders?? try crystal.

4.) a $650 pass beats anywhere else in WA by hundreds of dollars. especially the student pass.

5.) it pissed rain cuz it was an el nino winter...not because of the bad joojoo of the WA ns'ers. and they still have 200" at the top. where else in WA has that now??? oh wait where else in the country has that base depth now????nigga

6.) $47 actually is pretty damn cheap, and thats the weekend rate. would you raither go to snoshitty and pay +$60?? hmmmm... no. Crystal and Stevens are also both $60 plus waayyy more people go there.

so theres my rant, because baker is my shit....so get the fuck outta here!

the college pass at baker is pretty expensive, no doubt there.

I think you find the 1500 arc'teryx suits pretty much everywhere. I have really only skied baker midweek and not a ton at that, but I like the attitude their better then most other places. At stevens you get the 'local shred' bro-boarders with their 'holier then thou' attitude. At Crystal you get the richer then thou, so better then thou cause I got mantra's w/ dukes attitude. At snoqualmie you get the krush attitude.

It does rain alot at baker. but it was an el nino year. other years it is amazing.

$47 is not cheap, but neither is $60 and up which is what the rest of WA charges. Whistler is $92.

I think baker gives you the most bang for your buck unless you count college passes where stevens wins.

not to mention them chargin 75 DOLLARS for a seasons pass re-print. I lost my pass. Straight up. They will NOT give me a new one. But after arguing with them for a while and convincing them I just want to ski, and I am not trying to steal from them, they give me a day ticket. I wonder how long I can keep this up... I am t 4.

And for overall game, stevens wins. But there are bros everywhere. Yeah some of em are pretty funny at stevens, but they got their shit together, and the Park is always dfun, as well as their massive amount of terrain.

who cares...

it wasfuckin dope today. winter in the morning and spring in the afternoon. i love that mountain

So having a good suit that will last for years is not acceptable? Staying dry and warm isn't cool anymore huh? Black Diamond touring set-up is not able to be had either?

Who gives a fuck what kind of gear they have. Their gear is probably a lot nicer than yours. arcteryx is good quality gear, saga on the other hand, is shit compared to it.

and I never see kids with xxxxxxxxlt shirts hanging out of their jackets and pants way sagged thinking they're pro either.

Shut up.

the brand doesnt really matter. its the mentality, and it looks lke you are probably one of those people. And no I dont have nice gear, because I work for all of my own shit, along wiith going to school and supporting myself. And fuck saga. You have no idea what I ride or I wear. So fuck off.

This thread really sucks. Long story short, come to baker if you want. Risk getting fucked or dont, its up to you. None of this other bull;shit matters.

In regards to arcteryx: I'm sure Ed hardy makes very comfortable t shirts, but I'm not ever going to wear one.

I was just upset about missing to ski all the pow.

I came back on saturday, and first run I hucked somethin fun, and landed way too hard, and hurt my leg.

Fuck I miss Baker pow days.

not as well as they should...but just buy tickets anyways. they're pretty cheap..and baker needs the money. and don't go to baker looking for park...

But Bachelor has the fancy electronic turnstile things that only open after your ticket scans. They have a whiteboard with a running tally of how many people they have caught w/ no passes hahaaa.
