Does Back 270 = Blind 270?

Is there a preference in calling rail tricks for using back vs blind when calling spins off? or are the terms interchangeable? Same goes for swaps, does backswap = blindswap or nah?

The only time I call it a blind trick is when I’m referring to the god tier, holy grail, end-all of all ski tricks…..

Lip Blind Two.

???‍?✌? aka ??2️⃣ aka only trick

What about when doing a sw 2 on? If you do it blender, it's blind. If you do it normal, its not blind, but its sorta still back because you're switch..

Thoughts? Should monke have gone to bed hours ago?

The reason a back 2 off is called back 2 is because you are spinning with your back leading the spin, which is only possible from a sideways position such as coming off a rail. When you are skiing switch, it cant be a "back" trick its just switch.

I've never heard anybody call any sort of 2 on "blind," it only makes sense when you're talking about somebody spinning uphill/downhill off of a feature

yes, back = blind, interchangeable

back is short for backside, meaning that your spin start by turning your back away from where you're going. requires being sideways at the time of course, hence why we have backside spins out of rails but not on jumps, while snowboarders have them on jumps

You must be deaf or live in tropic?

This is in this case correct, but the name comes from where the feature is in relation to you. That's why frontside boardslide (skate or snow) is done when you face the obstacle and not the direction where you are going. Not the way you turn when you start the spin.

live in the northeast, been skiing in the park for 15 years and I've never heard someone say "blind 2 ON" and I've never heard anyone say that in a slvsh game either

You said that like it's a correction to my post but it's not..? Yes, a front board is frontside because of where the feature is in relation to you

But I was talking about skiers spinning off rails and snowboarders' fs and bs spins on jumps, which are determined how I said-- what side of you turns downhill first

Ahhh my mistake, there definitely isn't a blind on. Just blind out and blindup.

I've always thought skiers use the same naming skateboarders use ??‍♂️

Does the confusion not come from back-swap not being a blind swap, but a blind 2 also being a back 2? Wait what was the question?
