Even on the coldest days out as long as I have a shell I seem to be fine. How about you guys? Does anyone actually wear long underwear?

I just google "long underwear" cause I didnt know what it was ....

but yes, i have one at home that I use when its -20 or something (which isnt the case this year. damn it, it is raining here right now). Other than that I just wear normal pants, leggings, joggings or pyjamas (those are the best).

skinny snowpants make anything other than baselayers feel akward

yep. skinny snow pants + knee brace = need for a baselayer. i picked up a nice helly hansen one on black friday, im never going back to anything else under my pants. so great.

Fixed it for you.

Bball shorts for me til it's less than 0*. I wear so much injury protection these days I sweat my ass off in my lightest base layer

I dont like material sticking to my skin. Looser fitting clothing is more comfortable, but when overheating occurs, I prefer good underwear. I just cant stand long johns, my junk gets squished and sweaty balls smell sets in.

I only wear the pants of long underwear. It provides just enough of a compression effect to make my knee feel a tad bit better. I've probably fucking lost my mind though and am just imagining it

I wear nothing but underwear unless I'm feeling hood enough to sag my pants in which case board shorts so they dry quick if I fall and get my ass wet.

I cut some snowpants to stop mid shin, so it keeps me warm and doesnt cut off circulation or get sweatty from being tight to the skin or clumped up at the top of the boot. the only thing i want in my boot is my sock and foot, not the base of long underwear.

they make basically capri base layer for this exact reason. but i find with the proper fit on baselayer OVER your ski socks works fine in the boot.

Wear it every time. If its super super warm out not the tops. But I ALWAYS go commando in mine even on the coldest days.

My girlfriend wears a g string when she skis so that I can floss my teeth with it after I am done eating her asshole

i don't know why you got downvoted so much i actually laughed out loud

I just wear a pair of fleece/pajama style pants that fit loosely under my pants... Bball shorts are too cold and long underwear is, like, all tight fitting and shit.

Icebreaker GT three-quarter for me.

It comes as a surprise to me that people wear anything other than a technical baselayer - jeans and fleece (especially jeans) have always been the mark of a massive gaper around these parts.

This is stupid but I have this blue Patagonia baselayer pants and top that I literally always wear. It's like a superstition and I wear the same ones no matter what.(wash them every weekend) I feel like if I don't wear it I'll get hurt or something haha. Dumb but true.

I just wear my regular underwear. My pants insulation is warm enough for me to have bare legs. The only reason I would ski with something else is either on an artic cold day or that it's windy or snowing on the parking lot.

I fucking HATE wearing shorts under ski pants. That feeling on my legs. I do not like at all. Even on the warmest days I'll where thin pajama pants underneath to have that barrier.

And to the OP, I have fleece pants I rock that are warm and comfy. That a hoodie, and some decent outerwear and I'm good to go.

People seem to not understand that a base layers primary function is not warmth, but dryness. It transports sweat away from your body, warmth is a secondary function.

The only time I sweat usually is when I wear long underwear. it's also super tight on my legs which I don't like. If I get hot i'll just open up a vent. long sleeved t-shirt and athletic shorts under my shell layers Ill be good all winter

Airblaster ninja suit changed my life.

There's a butt flap that goes all the way around your back side, invaluable in emergency situations.

Ya feel me
