Does anyone know what I am talking about?

Depersonalization is the subject.

Was wondering if anyone on here has or is going through this. if you have no idea it absolutely sucks. imagine being in a hazing dream and not being able to differentiate reality for most of the day for a unknown period of time. everything is actually happening but my brain cannot tell if it is. If anyone has gone through this what are somethings to do to help the process of coming back to reality? I know it can take anywhere from 2 weeks up to a full year or so to fully recover. Just looking to see if anyone on NS has some time killers while I wait.+k for some helpful answers.

Depersonalization to me is like when you look at a mirror and don't even recognize yourself as yourself. You ask yourself who the fuck am I. Its one of the trippiest sensations i get it maybe once every two months. It's really hard to explain unless you have also had then you kinda know what I'm saying. Or when your on a psychedelic and look in a mirror it's kinda like the same exact feeling only sketchier. Just like whoah this is what I look like you almost realize that your body is just a functional shell for your mind.

Holy shit I think I had it last year. I would endup all confused and feel like I'm on some weird drug or some shit. At first I thought it was kind of funny, being naturally buzzed out at school and shit, but once I took an english exam while I was on a "buzz" only to be later told by my teacher that I skipped multiple pages of the exam and if something was wrong since I usually get good grades (I dont remember skipping thoses pages, thats why I got scared). When I went to see a doctor, I got told it was probably a small Labyrinthitis and not to worry too much about it. It ended a few months later and I never got it again, maybe it was the same thing as you?

this.

happned to me once when i looked in the mirror i was like what the fuck? and i felt all wierd and outside of my self... cant explain

while we're on the subject of weird sensations

when i get up too fast and i begin to black out, i start to think of really unconventional, mostly positive thoughts. does this happen to anyone else? its a really weird feeling. oh and 1000th post yayay!

That happens to me every once in a while when looking back to the week or so before I can't remember what was a dream or what actually happened, nowhere close to where you're at but along those lines. Hope you recover soon.

this happens to me every once in a while. just focus on things in reality and tell yourself it will go away by itself. it definitely sucks to have to do that but it works and goes away in no time.

in the mean time.. don't toke as much for a little bit

Didnt mention smoking but it was caused by my ADHD meds and a situation which I was driving that scared me to death. Aka why I've gone through this and hated driving ever since. Getting through it though thanks for the ideas.

this happens to me all the time. like at least twice a day.

Sometimes i come so close to blacking out i fall to my knees but i ever actually do.

that is normal. it is just all the blood rushing out of your head with a combination of having low blood sugar.

Holy shit. This happens to me too. Like this exactly, and I become really depressed afterward like I feel like I have no clue who I am.

yea i'm not specifically talking about the blacking out part, i'm talking about the thoughts that run through my head when i'm in the process. its just odd what randomly pops into my head

yes.

i feel very depersonalized nearly every time i look in the mirror. it's not necessarily scary, but more of just "what the fuck am I?"

its amazing how complex our bodies are, but yet its just millions of coincidental events that keep us alive. nothing will ever be scaled in our minds considering it is literally a parallel sub-conscious dimension that just happens to occur behind what our eyes take in.

also: life =/= existence?

I also have hypotension on top of this which is what everyone has been talking about. It blood rushing to my feet and causin me to nearly blackout or collapse. It's just from being 6'4. It's very common in taller people.
