Does anyone else see the osama assassination as not that good?

Al-Qaeda has really been relatively quiet as of late, global terrorism has been on a steady decline for the past few years. Does anyone else think that this killing will incur retaliation from Al-Qaeda? Osama died a martyr for his cause, against his enemy. Recruitment for Al-Qaeda will rise. Think about it this way; if any one country collectively killed our leader, Obama, and then pranced around their presidential palace drunkenly celebrating the killing on T.V., that the U.S. would launch a massive war on terror? Also, Osama led through financially supporting operations with family money, don't you think that his family will pour MORE money into terrorist operations due to this killing?

I'm just trying to give you guys a different perspective I guess. I'm expecting some immature shit like "you're a bad American"or whatever, but hopefully some people will take this moderately seriously and not act so churlish.

On the flip side. If America doesn't kill Osama we look like a failure, no matter how the war turns out. And 'Murrica doesn't lose.

this will undoubtedly be the prevalent thought amidst the hangover of tomorrow morning. One has wonder what will be done to exact the revenge of this leader, but remember this- Osama was not a world leader, he was a terrorist organization leader. I think, in an organization such as his, it may be difficult to fully mobilize and attack on his killers... I'd like to think that here, in one swift move, the head was cut off the snake as it were, and that it's unlikely enough mental and leadership muscle remains behind Al Qaeda to perform another 9-11 in revenge. At least I hope so.

it will be interesting to see how this whole thing plays out. is it good? i think so. the morale in troops overseas is through the roof right now and i am sure they cannot wait to get home. if anything this has brought our country together more than it has/will bring the terrorist group together. hopefully the troops will be coming home sooner than later because of this action

WikiLeaks reveals Al Qaeda thug Khalid Shaikh Mohammed vowed 'nuclear hellstorm' tied to Bin Laden

BY BILL HUTCHINSON

Monday, April 25, 2011

Secret government documents leaked to the media last night reveal a top Gitmo detainee vowed to unleash a "nuclear hellstorm" if Osama Bin Laden was ever captured or assassinated.

Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, the suspected mastermind of the 9/11 attacks, claimed Al Qaeda had hidden a nuclear bomb in Europe that was tied to Bin Laden's fate, according to a dump of classified documents released by the WikiLeaks website.

The frightening information was in thousands of pages of dossiers of detainees being held at the controversial Guantanamo Bay prison in Cuba.

Mohammed's boast to his Gitmo interrogators remains unconfirmed, but officials have uncovered attempts by AlQaeda to obtain a nuke and fear the terrorist group has already purchased uranium. It is the fourth time WikiLeaks has dumped top secret documents to global news groups, including The New York Times, The Washington Post and The Telegraph of Britain.

Other revelations in the latest leak ofdocuments compiled from 2002 to2008 include:

A plot by Al Qaeda to poison Americans by putting cyanide in air-conditioning units in public buildings.

Gitmo interrogators subjected Mohammed al-Qahtani, the so-called 20th hijacker of the 9/11 attacks, to wearing a dog leash and urinating on himself and sexually humiliated him to obtain confessions that "appear to be true."

American forces seized innocent people in Afghanistan because they were wearing a certain model of Casio watch that Al Qaeda terrorists used as bomb timers.

no single person will ever carry the stigma that osama had. he was the literal face of terrorism. that can never be replaced.

that's at least what the government tells us...we may never know for sure about what really goes on behind closed doors...

what part of "face of terrorism" do you not understand?when you think of terrorism, do you think of hitler? when you think of the holocaust do you think of osama?no. i never said osama was the most evil person in the world. i said he was the most notorious and recognized face associated with terrorism that the world has ever seen.

not to be a Negative Ned here, but i don't know if i agree.

someone will rise and take control of Al-Qaeda. they will continue to plan and carry out attacks all around the world. true, i don't think anyone else will become the "face of terrorism" like Bin Laden was, but his death is a very minor defeat for them in the long run. and all the celebration, jokes and jeering do little more than just provoke the monster.

that being said i definitely did my fair share of USA chants today and i can almost promise you i'll remember today for a good long while.

oh, i 100% agree with you. someone will pick up where he left off, but i highly doubt they will ever become a household name.

so when you see in the news that jihadist terrorists have blown something to hell and killed innocent people your first thought is "oh, that damn hitler!"
are we currently fighting a war against the nazis?

you know very well what my point is. quit being a deusch.

You are right by saying that this will piss off al quaeda..... who the fuck cares? The alternative would be letting him live so that we don't make a terrorist group mad, that is the dumbest logic I have heard in a while. I know there is something to be said about a devil's advocate point of view, but seriously, this is a great day for all of us who have the sight of the towers falling down permanently in our memory, especially those who lost loved ones.

Please don't resort to making grammar comments when you can't even string together an intelligent sentence.
In your own words "you're not sounding terrible smart"
and back on topic... how has my point changed? I'm still arguing that no head of Al Qaeda will ever be as recognized as Osama's. I mean, the guy fucking founded Al Qaeda in 1988 and declared holy war against the United States in 96. The OG towers bombing, yeah Osama too. He's been in the game a lot longer than 2001.
But why do i even try to argue with you? All you'll do is nitpick at my grammar without actually offering a logical argument of your own.

You're acting like a child and I offered my opinion on the matter. That you should shut the fuck up already. Nobody cares whether you think Bin Laden has more association with the word "terrorism" than Hitler, or anyone else. Trying to tell people that their opinion is wrong is straight up idiotic.

Israel will celebrate by blowing up some settlements, Iran will rattle it's saber, then some shit will hit the fan someplace and it will be like he never was a problem since someone else is in his place.

Well, you obviously weren't talking about yourself, you were talking to me. Now I'm just confused. Also, I love the extra effort you put in by adding the little dollar sign to the end of your name. Keepin it classy.

Yeah I find it scary, especially when I see Americans chanting "U.S.A!!!". Yeha good he's dead I suppose, but ever heard of fucken modesty. Think what your actions could prevoke. It's a vicious cycle remember America.

the dollar sign comes stock with copy pasta. No extra effort required, I just thought it would make it blue but apparently not, but thanks anyways.

i'm really glad we've been able to have this nice chat, i gave you some +K, looks like you could use it.

Following Muslim tradition, body buried 24hours or something like that after death. You go parading it around on TV you will just piss the nutty ones off more.

just thought i'd leave this here,
Penn State, we win a football game, we riot. We lose, we riot. A tree falls somewhere in the woods... riot.
FUCK YEAH MURRICAH, FUCK YEAH PENN STATE, FUCK YEAH
my favorite picture of the night here, captain murricah kicking in the face of blue man.

inb4 amreicans are ignorant and stupid for celebrating like this^

CTers will get pissed by it, the super out there Americans that want his head mounted on a pole will be pissed, but some picture some place will eventually leak.

I see it as a good thing. One it unifies the American people, always a good thing. Two, we found out where he was hiding which in fact was not in a cave but in a fucking mansion in a populated city in Pakistan. Two important things come out of that let alone. One we can and probably will find tons of info about Al Quada and two I think due to this event we can conclude that Pakistan really isn't the allie we thought they were. His compound was in the middle of a city in Pakistan that is notorious for ex pakistan military members and even current members to dwell. How the fuck did they not know that Osama was there.

Last summer I remember reading reports that Bin Laden and other Qaida figureheads indeed were near the Paki/Afghan border, possibly in normal houses etc. I think it was a CIA agent's report.

Yeah supposably the Obama administration has known about this compound since August. Beats me to why it took so long to get the guy though? You'd think that they'd wanna jump on that lead asap cause the guy moves around so much. I guess not though.

"The battle of Helm's Deep is over; the battle for Middle Earth is about to begin."

I feel that sums up the recent events pretty damn well.

Why does it matter anyways? Will him dying bring back those who died on 9/11? Will it end terrorism? No and no. Violence compounds violence and this won't change anything but Hannity's underwear. What a huge waste of money. Our celebration of "winning" shines an aweful light on humanity. I'm not saying we shouldn't have killed him. Bring on the nationalism...

^my thread

The drunken idiots prancing around the White House last night made me feel disgraced to be an American. Think about if our leader was killed by a group of people, then they continued to celebrate in front of their presidential palace on television, wouldn't we DEMAND massive retaliation? All of the U.S. videos of these "patriotic riots" (how fucking stupid is that, patriotic riots, really America?) are being broadcast on Al-Jazeera. There are reports that Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, the TRUE mastermind behind the 9/11 attacks (He supposedly planned everything out and just asked Osama for a blank check) claimed Al-Qaeda has nuclear capabilities closely tied with the fate of Osama (personally, I think it was a protective measure to prevent the U.S. from assassinating Osama) but it's a scary realization that they are stationed in Pakistan, the same country responsible for making some of the most volatile leaders nuclear. They are tied to making Libya (who has since given up nukes) North Korea, Iran and Syria all nuclear.

Just some food for thought.

I don't really like the partying that is going on but for those that had family killed on 9/11 I can understand the feeling of, maybe relief at at least someone who was in part responsible for losing a loved one.
